I got a kick out of it because it started the same way the Disney Blu-ray trailer does. :D

Joker: "Here we go!"
Peter Pan: "Here we go!"

Someone at WB has a sense of humor.

Go to the Screenings/Community(?) tab, you should be able to get in from there. Zack works a little blue.

Yeah, I'm looking at the InFocus X10. It cost $1,200 and I'm finally moving up from 720p to 1080p. I just can't handle my MovieMate 72's inaccurate colors and horrible blacks anymore. The Optoma looks good, but it's dynamic range is a little low for my taste. 500:1, where as my moviemate is 1,000:1 and the InFocus is 2500:1.

Never mind. had to go out and come back in.

I made it to the end of the opening credits.

I can't stare at that tiny Grey box for 3 hours. They need to change that.

Re: Watchmen: 7/28/09 (?)

Watch the film tonight and liked it even more than when I saw it in theaters. What additional scenes there were (and I'm not even sure I noticed them all) made the movie even better and didn't really effect how long it felt. Overall, "Watchmen" is just a damn cool movie that is beautifully shot.

The picture and audio also were phenomenal, props to WB for fixing some of their past mistakes. Add this to my list of most impressive HD transfers.

I watched a bit of Zack Snyder's screening, but since I'm on the East Coast, I'm not going to stay up until 3 a.m. watching the movie again. I'll probably go back to it for a bit, but I was having trouble following the questions and answers. It wasn't as much of a problem for "The Dark Knight," as Snyder seems to be rambling a lot, but the grey box really leaves a lot to desire. My preference would be to shrink the actual movie, but that would take a whole other level of programming.

I am pleased that the WB Blu-ray Live is a lot better than when "The Dark Knight" came out. I downloaded (quickly!) all the extra content they had up and watched them, and it was working really well. Some decent stuff there too.

I'm now watching the Focus Points.

Definitely happy to have it.

the live chat hasn't been working well.

most of the questions haven't appeared on the screen and it looks like snyder is answering his own questions.
also sometimes he gives an answer then the question comes onto the screen.

Mine is worse. Sometimes the box disappears completely and i have to log out and then log back in. Not a problem with my internet connection because the movie keeps playing fine, I just lose the box. But yeah, lots of tech problems and really crappy question choices.

Not to get too off-topic, but don't buy into the paper contrast ratings. I'd bet all of the low end DLP are in the same ball-park with regards to ANSI. I looked at X10 but the zoom/offset won't work at all for me.

Watchmen can really show off a good system though. It looks amazing on my CRT tv. Havn't really had a chance to crank up the volume yet to test out the audio.

Very unlikely. Warner almost certainly just took those clips from the master used for the DVD edition, which is a consistent 2.40:1. That doesn't mean there's another Blu-ray release on the horizon.

Re: Watchmen: 7/28/09 (?)

I had high hopes for the live chat, but it was pretty bad. I turned it off after Dan visited Adrian, but I had stopped paying attention well before that. I had a feeling that I wasn't going to last long when someone asked Snyder what he hoped people would gain by watching the movie, and his response was along the lines of "Watchmen really speaks to the human condition, but for this screening, I would prefer questions about cocks and dildos."

I wouldn't bet against it. WB has rereleased other hit titles already.

It looks like only the first shipment has the lenticular slipcover. Best Buy just had a bunch with no slipcover at all. :(

Alright so I ordered this from Amazon and got it today. It looks like it's got a tiny scratch on it and it skips a bit in the second chapter ish. Do they replace stuff like this?

What BR player do you have? Some folks are reporting problems with this disc and LG370/390 and Samsung 1590/1600/3600 players.
