Lost In Translation is getting a US release as well the same day unless Universal delays it (again). Uni double packs...interesting.

Where did ya hear about Lost In Translation for the US? Amazon.com doesn't have it available.

The confirmed word is that the Spawn blu released today has only the 5.1 Dolby track, & The Matador is 1080i & also only 5.1 dolby. No subs or extras on either as well..

Re: Canadian Blu-ray Releases - Complete List and Discussion

So are you guys still buying these? I ask because for some reason my local Movie Stop is loaded with used copies of these, $12-$15 each. I saw Dusk till Dawn, Pulse, Hostage, Trainspotting, Dracula 2000, Se7en, Cursed, Blade 1-3, and some others. Which are good buys, or should I wait for for an American release? Dusk till Dawn, and Dracula are tempting. The only thing that bothered me was the bilingual spines.

Re: Canadian Blu-ray Releases - Complete List and Discussion

stingermck the first post is essential reading to avoid getting wrong Aspect Ratio or audio or things like that. I never grabbed the wrong AR titles even since they went under C$9 up here. I only have 2 of the 3 Blades because of this too.

Also, if anyone is looking to push your order over $39 for July 6th, I'd recommend getting "In Bruges" at the same time.

Re: Canadian Blu-ray Releases - Complete List and Discussion

It's unfortunate that a lot of theses are 1080i or the wrong OAR because I'd pick up a lot of these if they were correct. I don't care about special features, but I'd pick up FD3, Dracula 2000 and a few others if they were correctly done. I'd also pick up Seed of Chucky if it was the unrated cut as opposed to the theatrical cut.

Updated the list of all titles coming out soon as well as putting slashes through titles that received - or will receive - US Releases. Anything I miss?

For those who are curious, FYE now has some of these titles for sale. In Henderson, NV had the following Canadian titles for $14.99:

- Blade
- Blade 2
- Blade: Trinity
- Boiler Room
- The Butterfly Effect
- From Dusk Till Dawn
- Made
- Rounders
- Reindeer Games
- Sin City
- Swingers
- Se7en
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre (same as WB BD release, just with a bilingual cover)

Re: Canadian Blu-ray Releases - Complete List and Discussion

So are there any good places for US residents to order Canadian BDs without getting raped on shipping? I swear I get cheaper shipping at amazon.co.uk than I do at .ca, and it's faster from the UK! WTF!? Do Canadians deliver everything by moose or what? Would it really be too much to ask for amazon.com to stock the goddamn things in the US warehouses? Even if they only made arrangements with Alliance, it'd still be damn helpful.

Re: Canadian Blu-ray Releases - Complete List and Discussion

^Same shit for Canadians when ordering from the US though - we get reamed on shipping and import charges - it is usually cheaper to order from the UK than it is the US, so I guess we all suffer at the hands of Amazon.

Re: Canadian Blu-ray Releases - Complete List and Discussion

If I'm ordering a single disc I usually do so through inetvideo, shipping's a bit more reasonable than Amazon.ca

I don't think FutureShop ships to the USA.

I'm not scanning through 13 pages, but can anyone tell me anything about Slither? I was going to order the OOP HD DVD until I saw it was out in CA. Anyone familiar with it, or own it, who can speak of its quality/shortcomings/etc?

There is good talk about the Canadian BD there, with a couple screencaps.

Thanks! Looks good, but I'm wondering if Uni will bow this in Oct...

They very well could. I held onto my HD-DVD release in case they don't though.

Even if they do release it sometime in the near future, you can get the HD-DVD of the film for $2-6, so it isn't too bad of a hit to the wallet.

Since Nathan Fillion has a semi-successful TV Show, it would certainly make sense. Some real campy fun.

Re: Canadian Blu-ray Releases - Complete List and Discussion

Some titles coming out on August 10th...
-Going the Distance
-Kill Bill Vol. 1 & Vol. 2 Double Feature (Will be on one disc, no subs & no extras)
-Scream Trilogy (Judging by the price, this should be a multi-disc set like the 'Spy Kids' trilogy, & not a single disc like the 'Halloween' 3-pack)

August 17th...
-Millenium 3: Reine dans le palais des courants d'air {AKA: The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest}, First 2 are already available in Canada, but are not-english friendly discs. This disc will likely follow that trend.

I might pick up Kill Bill if the price is right and unles Scream gets a SE box set her in the US when Scream 4 hits theatres I might grab it too and as far as Going the Distance is concerned if it's around $10 US I might get it someday. I have it on DVD in my National Lampoon collection and on some foreign disc where it was renamed Canadian Pie

Re: Canadian Blu-ray Releases - Complete List and Discussion

Scream Trilogy? Niiiiice! I'll wait for people to get that before I dive in (a US release seems very likely with Scream 4 coming out. But with Disney holding the rights and having released, like, 12 titles in 2010, even that seems like a long shot)

Re: Canadian Blu-ray Releases - Complete List and Discussion

I pre orderd the scream trilogy a few weeks ago along with the Kill bill double feature disc.
I am expecting disney(or whomever ends up with the dimension/miramax catalog) to release the individual titles when scream 4 comes out in theatres or a box set with all 4 when it hits homevideo late next year, So this will hold me over till then, i can always sell the import set as soon as they announce a us release. I also went ahead a pre orderd Shakespeare in love, which shipped to me yesterday along with a couple older titles that i combined with it to make the shipping a bit better, The Matador and Ella Enchanted.
