I've purchased a whole bunch of (still)exclusive Canadian discs/sets, up to 35 now, with 4 more on the way. I'll post info/pics when I can hopefully.

I notice Dead Snow is getting a US release on Feb 23, 2010 and Amazon.com shows it as 1.66:1 aspect ration, but the already released Canadian version shows 1.85:1 (which according to IMDB is correct ratio). I know sometimes Amazon makes mistakes on the pre-order pages but does anyone know for sure on the upcoming US version?

Did some updates... how do I strikethrough text? Like to do that for some of the titles that now have US releases. Also, thinking about adding what studio holds the respective rights to said films in the USA. With Mirimax/Weinstein pretty much done, it might be helpful.

I want Spies Like Us, but I hate Funny Farm.
And according to the early reviews, Spies Like Us has the lesser of PQ/AQ.
I'll have to wait for it to become a non-Best Buy exclusive to get it for cheap.

Re: Canadian Blu-ray Releases - Complete List and Discussion
Anybody ever find a T2 Canadian BD 1.78:1 aspect ratio ??? I was told that Canada has released a number of 2.35:1 movies altered to 16:9, because many of their discs are authored from broadcast HD masters, not the studio masters intended for home video.
Is this true, and is there a comprehensive list of the BD movies that are available ?? Thanks

Moooooortal Kombat! I can't wait to pick those up. I can't stand the horrid cardboard snappers and double-sided discs the US DVD releases had. I guess it might be time to order a few of the titles on my canadian backlog all at once, since Amazon.ca's shipping to the US isn't that cheap. Pisses me off Prime doesn't help any on the international sites. They could at least do free standard international for Prime members.

I have that one. In terms of specs, it's 1080p / 24, has an English DTS-HD MA 5.1 soundtrack, and is the correct OAR (true 1.85:1 which is rare, not even slightly opened to 1.78:1).
In terms of picture quality, it's nothing remarkable but doesn't look tampered with. No DNR or huge EE halos or anything. Bitrate is a bit low and there is a lot of noise - at the point where it's tough to say if it's all grain, or perhaps some truly unwanted noise on top as well (kind of like the Alliance version of Chasing Amy). But by far the best I've ever seen Swingers look.
