Maybe on a small screen, but even on my 80-inch front projector through an upconverting DVD player this one shows its age. I couldn't imagine watching it on a 100+ inch screen. A blu-ray release would be most welcome.

TVA Film BD releases:
Amelie
French only (TrueHD 5.1, DD 5.1), no subs, 1080i (it's the TF1 french tv transfer), menu (only "start film" and list of extras), you have to use the pop up menu to access audio and chapters, and there are indeed a few extras (bloopers, short making-of, cast auditions, interview with Jeunet).
C.R.A.Z.Y.
French only (TrueHD 5.1, DD 5.1), english subs, extras (making-of, interviews, Emile Vallee audition, deleted scenes). PQ slightly better than Amelie but still pretty average.
They also released "La Vie en Rose", which was allegedly the 1st 100% Canadian BD release but that was also a pedestrian affair with average PQ and only a DD5.1 track. Extras were decent though.

Watched my Freddy Vs. Jason disc yesterday and was pretty happy with the results. PQ was clean and reasonably sharp, with excellent coloring. A nice upgrade over the DVD. DTS-MA was good too with nice directionality, particularly during the construction yard fight. No extras (actually the only menu is a little popup box that lets you choose from the three audio tracks (DD as default). There's not even a chapter selection menu, though it is chapter divided accessible by the remote skip keys).

Got Butterfly Effect today...lists 1 Hour and 54 mins meaning, if correct, its the Theatrical Cut only
Edit: It's a mistake! Its really the Directors Cut!

For people up here in Canada, the releases from this week are C$16.83 at Walmart. They were C$19.99 and higher at the Future Shop I was at.

For reference, I snagged a copy of Alliance's Silent Hill Blu-ray months ago in hopes that it might be a carry-over of the German Concorde/Fox Pathe transfer.
In fact, it's the exact same disc as the Sony Blu-ray, only with different label art. It does, however, have two benefits: a) it's cheaper, and b) the artwork and disc are a bit more attractive, with no "repeat titles" on the spine (on mine at least).

Re: Canadian Blu-ray Releases - Complete List and Discussion
Watched 21 grams this weekend. Story was OK, replayability is not very high. I wasn't too impressed with the PQ at times. Maybe around a 6 or a 7/10? Audio was OK, around an 8 or so.
The only thing I can compare it to in terms of PQ is something like Tomb Raider, which I think is from close to the same release year (200?).
Still, not bad for C$17 + GST.

Has the Canadian release of Taxi Driver come out yet? It's not showing up on ebay and Amazon.ca says it's out of stock.
