Ooooo! That's on there? Awesome. I made a DVD-R of this when it was on StarzHD a few months ago. Of course it's in SD and I'd love an HD copy. Yet another reason to pick up Wall-E.

Were these part of the standard release or a bonus disc from Best Buy or something?

Funny that I came across this thread, This weekend i sat down and watched "Toy Story 1" and "A Bug's Life". Can never stop enjoying these type of movies.

You got to know everyone with a BD player is dying to pick up any of these old favorites and the studios have got to know this as well.

Anybody know if they're planning on including the previously-associated shorts with each catalog title, eventually making the Pixar Shorts disc redundant (if you buy everything else)?

From a fiscal stand point, I highly doubt they'd do that. It'd be great if they did for those who haven't purchased the shorts collection, but I'd be willing to bet that Disney would want to keep one of their products -- especially one of their neater BD releases -- appealing.

Some of the shorts on the BD were never released with the other individual DVDs correct? At least that is my understanding. I already own almost all the Pixar films on DVD but I seemed to be missing a few shorts despite this. In any case I agree that it seems unlikely that they would include them again.

Sorry for the delay in replying, I don't visit often.

The Cars features that weren't on the Blu-ray were the stuff from the store exclusives rather than the DVD itself if I remember correctly. Still, there had to have been some room for those things. Guess they weren't considered important.

I'm not letting go of my Toy Box until the BDs of TS1&2 are mine and I've verified that all the bonus material is carried over, which I seriously doubt will happen. If it does and I don't get as much out of it for waiting until it's already obsolete, that'd be worth it... given the crazy prices some OOP DVDs go for, I never sell anything in anticipation of a new release... I always wait until I get the new one and make sure I'm not losing anything by upgrading.

As for the shorts, I don't think all of them had been released by the time The Shorts Collection was released, and at least one (Knick Knack) is censored, and the VHS release TINY TOY STORIES is the only official release that contains the "big boobs" version.

I saw news of Bug's Life in March 09... then a retraction. It sounds like there will be a release of this title in 2009, just maybe not early in the year.
