Underworld Rise of the Lycans Definately the weakest in the series. It looked nice and crisp but so much was dark I find less of a benefit. This was a rental anyway and would never be a keeper.

Flawless-Decent film, AQ & PQ were good.

Watchmen. Excellent film. Excellent PQ. Blind-buy. No exposure to the comic.

Watchmen (bonus features)
The extras were pretty worthless. I haven't gotten to watch but 10 minutes of the Maximum Movie Mode so maybe that makes up for the paltry second disc, I dunno.

Blue Planet
Pretty.

Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist
I had seen the flick before and it's pretty cute (as is Kat Dennings). The transfer was good also. Nice and colorful.

The Fountain - Wow, what a utter mess of a movie! Pretentious, overwrought, and chock full of awful dialogue, this was a real chore to get through. Looked nice though.

Saw Push in the theater and agreed it was pretty poor. I was really glad we get free tickets from my daughter so we only pay for 1 out of 3.

When I watchedt hat movie I couldn't even get through it. About the tenth time you say, what the hell is going on now it's time to shut it down and fire up another.

Taken, Push and Step Brothers. Taken and Push were rentals and I enjoyed watching them, but they are both one and done movies. Step Brothers I bought cheap used and it was much funnier than I thought it would be.

Red Cliff II Pretty phenomenal film! Can't believe there's actually a push to trim both films into one for a more "consumer friendly" version rather than the two complete films that currently exist. AQ &PQ were outstanding!

The Fountain--a movie that gets more beautiful and engrossing each time I watch it.

Sunshine - An excellent film until the third act, when Boyle made a major mistake by introducing
Spoiler:
the Freddy-looking bad guy, whose existence/condition is never properly explained.
This moved the picture into cheap-scare, Event Horizon/slasher territory, which was wholly unnecessary. The transfer looked spectacular, especially the fiery climax.

Baraka - All of the superlatives I've read about this transfer couldn't prepare me for the experience of watching it. Truly an amazing, immersive work of digital art. I had seen the DVD a few times before, but this was like viewing it for the first time. The soundtrack was among the best I've heard so far on a Blu-ray.

re: Last BD (or, unrealistically, HD DVD) you watched?

Sideways. Not a film that absolutely needed a release on BD, but it looks and sounds much better than the DVD version. Payne always wanted it to look like a film from the 70s and I think the BD captures that a lot better than the DVD.

Great film, solid disc.

The first film looked awesome... the only thing I liked about the third one is the opening sequence. Blows me away.

Ronin (1998)

The transfer wasn't the greatest but the audio and the movie more than make up for it!

Step-brothers. Freaking hilarious movie but the AQ & PQ were unremarkable.
