When it's sitting on the shelf I take it for granted just how great and...alive this movie is. No musty, dusty classic. This thing still crackles.

First Ep from

It's got a lot of praise to live up to and I already know the material can serve as a vehicle for a ton of juicy thematic explorations. It's off to a solid start so far. Not wide eyed amazing, but promising.

I've seen a lot of comedies recently with big names and this one blows them away. Literally LOL funny. I loved it.

Finding himself dumped after 25 years of marriage, a man who made a career of seducing rich older women must move in with his estranged sister, where he begins to learn the value of family.

With Salma Hayek, Rob Lowe, Kristen Bell.

This only scored a 5.5 on IMDB so I guess I'm in the minority but I found it funnier than The House, Rough Night, Girl's Trip, CHIPS and several others I've seen this year.

Spoiler:
Kristen shows her titties

Pattinson outside of Twilight can act though was not a huge fan of this movie compared to the high score at Rotten Tomatoes.

Hard to believe this is almost 30 years old. For the last 15 years I would have been thrilled to see this again with the utterly serviceable master MGM provided. But having been exposed to more and more down razzed from 4K masters of other catalog titles in the last year, the TT disc is almost disappointing.

It did sound great though. Very happy I finally upgraded my speakers last year.

The Enterprise Incident from

Insipid ep. Maybe not as inane as Spock's Brain, but it's got to be one of the weakest of the show's run. Chock full of contrivances.

It was not that bad though sometimes the frantic motion and music all happening at the same time can drive you crazy.

Watched Alien: Covenant this evening. Reminiscent of the 1st Alien movie but with a twist. Definitely entertaining...

A few chuckles but a average comedy.

I found it far superior to the big name comedies like Rough Night, Girls Trip or The House. Of course the bar is set pretty low with those. I did have more laughs with Latin Lover.

The Thing (Arrow Video) -- The restoration is phenomenal. I watched it via the 5.1 track and forgot how dynamic it was. I did watch one of the newer documentaries called "Who Goes There?" Starts of with the historians and the short story from the 1930 before some of the primary members of the cast and crew come in. It's just under 80 minutes, but definitely very cool.

That is a low bar lol. I admit I did crack up when he went into the pool and everybody thought he took a dump.

I hated Girls Trip and Rough Night and the House were decent.

Watched Arrival this evening. I told my wife I felt like I'd just watched a monumental movie but I couldn't figure out exactly why. Takes a moment to grasp but it's actually pretty good.

^ Looking forward to seeing how that film will play on a second viewing. I thought it was outstanding the first time around and just got better with reflection.

A bit of a disappointment, with a miscast male lead and third act twist that was already shop worn in the mid 40's. Stanwyck was decent and it's watchable up until the sentimental and silly denouement, but I was expecting something better.

Mummy's Ghost from

As they used to say in the Videohound film guide..."woof".

One (sole) saving grace was the interesting fate of the lead female character.

Christmas Vacation Rolled out the old front wheel drive sleigh, fired up the HD DVD player and watched the holiday favorite. Always a fun movie and a December tradition. This was never the best looking HD presentation even when HD DVD was new. Looking at it now through a lens that is used to 4K this looks like a VHS copy in places. I'll upgrade this to at least Blu sometime soon.

We just watched the remastered version last weekend and it looked pretty damn good. It comes in a steelbook too, if that's your thing.
