Realistically, the last HD-DVD I watched was Blood Diamond a few days ago, and remarkably it played all the way through! I went through at least 5 copies of this to get one that played- my first 2 wouldn't even load at all, then I got one that played when it came but a while later it had rotted, then I went through about 2 more than wouldn't play at all. On a whim I got a sealed one on Ebay for about a buck, and it looks like it will actually survive the ages (I test-played it a few months ago and it made it to the end, then finally had time to watch it this week.)

Christmas present. Enjoyable enough to own but so much could have been done better. I watched the featurette where they gushed about all the great casting they scored. I thought the two leads were terrible choices. Jai Courtney should stick with playing stoic bad guys instead of stoic good guys. The chick in Star Wars would have been a better Sarah Connor.

Ok for a one-time watch but won't visit it again. Britt Robertson was enjoyable alongside Clooney.

A rental. got it home from family video and wondered why I bothered. Not a huge fan of Sandler and it got terrible reviews. Not a great movie but did find a few laughs. A pleasant surprise. Michelle Monaghan is one hot 40 year old. She just keeps getting better looking. C+

Stunning picture for a fun movie. Looking at that presentation, it's hard to get too excited over 4K. What's not to like about 1080p?

Yes especially when 8k and probably 16K is on the horizon.

I've been down on M. Night's work lately, but I found this somewhat entertaining. However, I wasn't really a fan of this being shot "Found footage" style.

Highlight or Lowlight of the movie, one of the lead kids gets a diaper of shit stuffed in his face.




Sinister 2 (2015)

Didn't like this at all. Wasn't scary. 2 very annoying kids were the lead along with the mother.
