re: Last BD or 4K UHD disc you watched?

I enjoyed the first one enough to check this one out. The wife was laughing quite a bit but I thought it was rather bland. Someone else also mentioned the daughter. Is Manny's (from Modern Family) sister. Doesn't have his charm and her looks obviously can't carry her. Hope this franchise is done but since they make them on the cheap and they make money I'm sure we'll see a third. If Adam Sandler keeps making his crap, they'll give Kevin James more at a fraction of the price.

For some reason I though this was an action movie when I picked it up. Good drama and suspense however.

I think she is from Modern Family and probably some crappy Disney or Nick show too.

True Story.

I don't think this movie got any publicity. I might be in the minority but I liked it.

We're The Millers. I bought it in 2013 and opened it for the first time. Don't know what was added for the extended cut.

repeat viewing. Sometimes Will Ferrell can be tough to take but I like him in this.

Five guys share a loft apartment so they can cheat on their wives. When a girl turns up dead, the story is told through police interviews and a series of flashbacks. Had some rather tepid reviews but found it to be a decent enough rental. Some gratuitous nudity from the likes of Isabel Lucas (Transformers 2)doesn't hurt

At Family Video, when you rent 3 you get a fourth for free. I'm going to call this one the fourth. Holy cow was this thing bad. And that is coming from someone who can usually tolerate mindless action.

When Channing Tatum is the main star or the lead it is never a good sign.

Foxcatcher was a Steve Carrell movie to me.

Boulevard

At first glance maybe the gloom and sadness of this movie put Robin in the mood to kill himself but probably not.

Spoiler:
I did not see the underlying gay themes coming before I rented the D Train and Boulevard.

Usually watch it on or around 9/11. What a difference a decade makes. Back then we thought very highly of our first repsonders and the sacrifices they made.

gave up on this. These people were too obnoxious

World Trade Center one of the rare good Cage movies that came out in the last 11 years. Maybe it might test some viewers patience since most of the scenes are set in the dark and buried under the rubble.

The Harvest

Maybe time snuck up on me but when did Samantha Morton became fat and old?

At first I thought it was somebody else playing the mom role.

Mad Max-Fury Road. This was a blind buy for me as I did not get a chance to see it in the theatre. Great A/V and the movie was well worth the hype. Glad I bought it!

I actually thought United 93 was a superior 9/11 based movie but as far as Cage movies go, it was one of the better. He was very into portraying the part and it showed. United 93 was a little too heart wrenching though. The extras where the actors met the family of the person they were portraying brought tears to my eyes.

WTC was a good movie in its depiction but Oliver Stone's style is more heavy handed and melodramatic in the dialogue. I still make a point of watching it every September so it's not bad by any means.

Typical Vince Vaughn riff. Relied way too much on saying Fuck every two minutes. Glad it was a rental. The weird part was a nude scene from Bonita Freidrecy who played Colonel Beckman on Chuck. Strange that a 53 year old 5' tall woman who has never done a nude scene would suddenly go topless in a Vince Vaughn comedy.

I will probably revisit WTC. I own it on DVD and bought the Blu-ray maybe 2 years ago but did not open it.

United 93 was great though nobody wants to give it a chance and say it is exploitative. They are are not ready yet to watch a 9/11 movie though a lot of time has passed since the tragedy.

Cobra. Maybe I might have liked it in the 90's but once Bridgette Nelson enters the picture I lost interest.

Hot Pursuit. Why did Reese do this movie?

I enjoyed November Man but this one had very little action, fewer thrills and no suspense. A poor rental choice

Lila and Eve Starring Viola Davis and Jennifer Lopez

Basically it's the female version of Death Wish. Davis' teenage son gets shot and killed in a gang shooting and she seeks vengeance with the help of J-Lo.

Decent low budget Indie thriller.

Married to the Mob (1988)
I upgraded to the Blu-ray as this is one of my favourite movie and made me fall for Michelle Pfeiffer when I first saw it. I'm happy with the PQ along with the AQ that Kino Classics provided but disappointed that there's no extras with the exception of the trailer. I'm guessing that there must be deleted scenes somewhere with all of the extra footage shown in the end credits.

What starts out as a mob movie, ends up being a romantic comedy with some soul. Although Michelle Pfeiffer and Matthew Modine do an admirable job, is Mercedes Ruehl that steals the movie as Connie.
