I'm also 40 and felt equally sickened by just about everyone on screen, although I thought the miniature Tom Petty thing was hilarious. Overall, a very regrettable blind buy for me.

Thought I'd be the only one to dislike this movie so much. Really glad i waited for the rental and didn't buy this POS. Leslie Mann's boob was the best part of this movie, even at that she was so dislikeable I just wanted to hate fuck her. My wife watched about 15 minutes and gave up. I was stupid and stayed with it to the end.

I turn 40 next year and This Is 40 made me feel young.

A Good Day to Die Hard. It sucked and they should have stopped after Die Hard with a Vengeance.

Little Fockers. I finally removed the shrinkwrap after 2 years.

Celeste and Jesse Forever

Too hipster for its own good, and the second movie in a row I've watched that didn't feature a single character I gave a shit about (the other: This is 40).

Will have to watch (500) Days of Summer again to see an L.A.-set romance done right.

Looked very soft. Could use a new transfer for BD.

Saw Notting Hill last week on HD DVD. Just glad to have it in HD. Doubt it will get much improved for BR, they don't have a good track record for it

Super Troopers My son's recommendation. He thought it was hilarious. It was OK but didn't really find many LOL moments.

Not a great weekend though I was surprised how much I really liked American Reunion watching it for the 2nd time.

21 and Over was really bad and Cosmopolis was mediocre.

TMNT

Decided to fire up the ol' HD-A2. Movie holds up well (lots of fun and heart) and unlike my HD DVD copy of DVE, this is one combo disc that isn't giving me any playback problems. Still, I should look into getting this movie on BD in case my HD-A2 ever decides to crap out.

The Call

Surprisingly effective movie, save for the last 20 minutes or so. Endings always seem to be the black mark for movies like this.

Knight and Day Never had the problems with this movie that many others did. Periodically throw it in and enjoy it for what it is.

Its mistake was trying to have something resembling a plot. Had it been just 90 minutes of the action on the plane and Cameron Diaz unsuccessfully trying to get away from Tom Cruise it would have been spectacular. I still enjoyed it, though.

I just can't get into Bond movies. Can never get in the right frame of mind. I did enjoy the last half hour, though.

*****/***** Gorgeous Blu-ray. The best image quality of any Monroe film on Bd, and one of the best looking 50's films on disc. A huge upgrade from the DVD.

*****/***** Another absolute stunner with incredible PQ. And a great movie to boot.
