Made time for a couple films this weekend.
First, I finally got around to watching The Dark Knight on BluRay... just wow, and it was even better the second time through.
Also watched Lakeview Terrace. Not a bad little movie, with good PQ, and decent AQ.

Hairspray Picked it up at CC for 60% off. It was actually a fun little movie. Good PQ and AQ, what you expect from a recent film. James Marsden is getting around.

Appaloosa (BD) - Awesome PQ/AQ*
*Couldn't play at first on my Sony BD-S350. After network update, it played fine up until 1:16:35 and froze...wouldn't play again until 1:32:25. Anyone else experienced the same problem? First time I encounter any problem during playback.

Black Christmas (Blu-Ray)
Definitely not the movie to choose if you can't sleep

I watched Nim's Island, The Spider-Wick Chronicles, and started Sukiyaki Western Django. I enjoyed the first a bit because of the performances even though the movie went absolutely nowhere and has no replay value, the second was entertaining but not necessarily worth keeping, and the third was disappointing. At the half-way point I just took it off since I was tired and not enjoying it much.

We Own the Night. A good, solid film. The performance by Joaquin Phoenix was great. I really hope his recent stunts are just that... stunts.

I just finished watching Meet the Robinsons. It was a lot better than I expected it to be. It wasn't perfect, but after seeing this and Bolt (in the theater) Disney has restored a bit of faith in me as a Studio (without the support of Pixar Studios itself). This was a solid and highly enjoyable family film with a good story and some interesting time travel scenarios.

I watched Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead remake, and Heathers.
This Dawn of the Dead remake pretty much sucked as far as I am concerned. It was filled with plot holes, ridiculous dialog, and predictable scenarios. And it didn't really scare me that much either. The person I saw it with was terrified but I just felt bored by this film. Heathers was another blind buy and while I really enjoyed the film (and loved the performances) I'm not sure it's a movie suited for my tastes. I couldn't figure out if it was trying to be as cynical as it was by the end of the film, or if it was trying to make some other point about teenage angst that went over my head. In any case, I am very glad that I finally got to see it.

History of Violence Decent movie plus some Maria Bello beav in hi-def.
Tried to watch Transporter 3 but it wouldn't load in my s350, anyone else have trouble?
The Sentinel, for the umpteenth time, yes it wasn't very original but I really like that movie.

Pinocchio
First time seeing this (I was too busy watching horror movies as a youngster) looked awesome in Blu.
