Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part III

Image Entertainment has announced that they will bring the drama 'Powder Blue' to Blu-ray on June 9th, day-and-date with the DVD release. Featuring an all-star cast of Jessica Biel, Ray Liotta, Eddie Redmayne, Forest Whitaker, Kris Kristofferson, Lisa Kudrow, and Patrick Swayze, the film will be presented in 2.40:1 1080p video accompanied by a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack.

The lone special feature will be a director's commentary.
As awful as that movie looks, it's Jessica Biel nude and playing a stripper. That at least makes it worthy of a rental to me.

Amazon has 'Taken' pre-orders up, any info if it's the PG-13 or unrated International cut of the film?

Loved this film! Brian Orndorf has a great final line in his review: "a convincing cartoon for those who like their revenge served cold and their parental responsibility depicted as nothing short of absolute."

Didn't know there was an international cut, I guess I'll have to seek that out at some point.

Looking at that list I'll likely buy most of them. Good to see all the features (at a glance) intact.

Edit: Wait, Grease? Nothing?

Only one word for this one: FAIL!
Seriously Paramount? You released this TWICE on DVD, and both times it had some sort of special features (the second release obviously more extensive than the first), but barebones on Blu? Yeah, good idea...that'll sell a lot....

Well, at least they ported over the 30th Anniversary SCE extras...was kind of hoping they'd have thrown the deleted scenes and Behind The Music highlights onto it from the original DVD as well, to make it complete....same with Ferris Bueller, why'd that audio commentary from the first release get lost somewhere in time? I wish studios would look at what Fox is doing for X-men, where they are bringing over all the extras from both the original release and the special edition for Blu-ray, now that's how it's done!

-VC-1, DTS HD MA

I was able to get the dvd set for $14.99 during the misprice at Target, so I'll pass. I wonder how pricey this thing will be?

I think that was the price for Band of Brothers which ended up being had for $35 - $40 didn't it. I know it went way lower than the $55 I paid at Borders
