Giles 10-01-08 12:38 PM

according to Amazon, via an email from them, Caligula is back on track for a November 4th release.

Mr. Cinema 10-01-08 02:49 PM

Home Alone - December 2
http://www.amazon.com/Home-Alone-Blu...B001AQT0VI?-20

$34.99 list price.

bunkaroo 10-01-08 03:02 PM

Hmm, the first Fox catalog at a lower list price on release day?

It's a step in the right direction, but something like Home Alone should be 29.99 list at most.

it's a no-win situation, you stay at home instead of going out to the movies, but you still pay high prices for a bluray... I don't get it.

I thought there was another title that's been announced for that price - the first X-Files movie?

Gizmo 10-01-08 03:51 PM

So this will be $25-$30 in-store...damn. Yeah, pass on this. At best, they could have done a double release (or triple release if the third is a Fox film). How well did Mrs. Doubtifre sell?

Skoobooz 10-01-08 04:13 PM

This Is Spinal Tap seems to be coming to BD on January 20th...very exciting, except that, being MGM, it's possible that there may not be any special features. Hopefully the Bond movies are a signal that they'll start including them, but....

Not just Home Alone, but the all-time holiday classic Jingle All the Way arrives the same day.

I'll grab Home Alone...

but eyev got too geht thah Tuhhbo Mohn fuh Chreestmuhs ohn Bloo-ray!

Seriously, I nearly lol'd at that announcement. If someone gave me it as a gift I'd probably bust a funny fuse.

P.S.: I'll buy Domino if it hasn't been fucked up (i.e. no lossless). I'm one of six fans of the film on Earth.

You may be right. I ordered the two-pack so I didn't see the price for Fight The Future on its own.

Well I'm one of those who love Jingle All The Way - we watch it every Christmas. I love how cynical it is - and accurate about the whole BS toy rush stuff. Plus Rita Wilson just gives me those milf vibes in this one. :) And let's not forget the late great Phil Hartman.

I'll probably get both.

HumanMedia 10-01-08 08:29 PM

As am I.

TylerDurden_73 10-02-08 09:25 AM

Domino for me also...

Mr. Cinema 10-02-08 11:00 AM

I saw Daredevil in Target yesterday. Thankfully, the cover didn't have that stupid sticker "featuring Jov Favreau" we've seen on promo covers.

It was $27.99.

Posted by Kris Deering on blu-ray.com:

So Warner has a small Blu-ray pamphlet in the new release of Poltergeist that shows some titles coming soon to Blu-ray. Titles mentioned include:

"The Wizard of Oz
JFK
Shawshank Redemption
Being There
Woodstock
The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring
King Kong (original)
Gone with the Wind
The Matrix 10th Anniversary
Rush Hour
The Notebook
Amadeus

No specific dates, just coming soon.

Enjoy!"

BinaryTB 10-02-08 06:25 PM

So a separate Matrix? Nice, that Ultimate Matrix collection is way too expensive, especially since a lot people don't really care much about part 3.

LOTR: Fellowship is tempting, but I'll wait for the eventual box set and/or special editions. May Netflix it so I can watch the flick in HD though.

Drexl 10-02-08 06:49 PM

Being There is a nice surprise. I'll get that one.

Holy shit! LOTR:FOTR is huge! I'm also down for Gone with the Wind and King Kong. Looks like Warner is going to have a very strong 09.

Same here. I love Domino... they better not mess it up.

Looking forward to The Wizard of Oz and LOTR.

Gizmo 10-02-08 07:00 PM

Nice...sadly just The Wizard of Oz for me.

Quake1028 10-02-08 07:06 PM

I'd be excited about a couple of these. But with WB's recent bad PQ record.....

PopcornTreeCt 10-02-08 07:45 PM

We pretty much knew all those titles were coming next year anyway.

cartman 10-02-08 08:16 PM

I'd be excited for quite a few of those Warner releases if I weren't so scared to learn of their specs.

Really? LOTR?

I'd probably wait for a set though. There's no reason to space those releases out.
