This will be a Day 1 for me as well. Was kind of hoping they'd edit some of the footage back into the movie and maybe have 2 options to watch it.

Heard the editted footage tied more to the first hulk movie in some ways.

Nearly every?

What other discs besides End Of Days and the upcoming Baby Mama has Universal been cutting features from? I know U-571 still has them now as part of its "U-Control" PIP commentary track instead of as separate featurettes...

To me, it seems like Universal is actually for the most part going the right way and ADDING back features (as well as lossless audio of course)....

I'm thinking specifically of the upcoming releases of The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up....both of those titles will include both their rated and unrated versions, plus all of the previous DVDs special features (something the HD-DVD Knocked Up especially missed out on...)

I can't praise Universal highly enough, and I'm one of those that has forever been staunchly in the Blu corner...

As far as I know, ALL of their discs that seem to be missing features have them in the U-Control feature. Only if the disc does not have a U-Control feature are the features really missing.

Knocked Up is missing a ton of features. I'm hoping that they don't repeat that mistake with Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

The Mummy and Mummy Returns are missing the Theatrical Trailers.
End of Days is missing everything.
The Scorpion King 2 is missing EVERYTHING from the day and date DVD
U-571 cut all standard features and opted to put them into U-Control (Profile 1.1/2.0 players only).
Heroes Season 1 cut 3 features from the HD DVD
Heroes Season 2 cut the 15 minute Season 3 preview.
Baby Mama cut deleted scenes, alternate ending, and an SNL retrospective.
Doomsday cut all standard features and opted to put them into U-Control (Profile 1.1/2.0 players only).
Miami Vice is the ONLY HD DVD port to include all previous features plus additional (3 short featurettes). It does, however, lack the Theatrical version the combo HD DVD provided.

Am I missing anything?

Are you talking about the HD DVD version or the new Blu-ray (i.e. the same features missing from the HD DVD or did they cut more from the already lacking HD DVD?).

Sarah Marshall already announced their specs and 3 or 4 feautres have been "dropped" so they could be downloaded via BD-Live. Apparently no room on the disc for 20 minutes of SD extras...or just a marketing tactic.

I was referring to the HD DVD. The fake documentary about how they found Seth Rogen was missing, along with other stuff. Has that now been included with the Blu-ray?

No idea, it won't get sent out to reviewers until next week so we'll know then.

Well for the Mummy movies, they did add an exclusive U Control and lossless sound which I think more than balances out the lack of trailers.

But were talking about missing features here - not lossless sound. The Mummy films were not a big deal (just a trailer) but other releases had to compromise to fit on a 25GB disc and include a lossless track. No 50GB for them (well, except Miami Vice, Mummy and Mummy Returns...see a pattern?).

But even if we go with "superior" sound the picture quality has been tainted - most HD DVD ports had a nice layer of EE/DNR added to them making the HD DVD still look better. Both Mummy films and U-571 show examples of this. I can only hopoe they don't add more EE to 40 YO Virgin...

While I have not seen an actual hands on yet to give the 100% confirmation, the listed specs that were given from Universal do include all of the features from the 2-disc SE DVD release (including all of the previously "exclusive" second disc bonus features that the HD DVD was missing)....

Universal has been wrong several times in their BD press releases so until these hit reviewers hands (Wednesday/Thursday next week), I wouldn't trust them. This is the same studio that promised numerous extras for Scorpion King 2 BD only to remove them and delayed reviewers copies until the day after the title was released. Baby Mama is the latest to have features removed that were announced in their press release.

The news editor at blu-ray.com posted a pic of the actual case. It's GREEN!

I would link to it, but DVD Talk doesn't allow it for that site...for whatever reason.

No day 1 purchase for me, I'll wait and hope for a repackaging with the tradition blue blu-ray casing.

I got mine today as well. Green case. Looks kinda...odd though. I might just replace it with a normal Blue BD one instead.

I just rented the first "Hulk" on BD from Netflix, second time I've seen it. And it was just as dull dull dull as the first time. I only wanted to see it in high def. And I don't even think the PQ was as great as it's review. Sure, it was good 4/5. But not the best or highest rating. And in comparison to Ed Norton's terrific Hulk, I thought it was just a terrible film. Overall, first "Hulk" I'd rate it 4/10 overall. "The Incredible Hulk", 8.5/10.

you are wrong.. the hulk 2003 HD is top notch.. its a much better movie then the new one. I thought the new one was just okay.. I had problems with william hurt and ross. sam eliott was so much better.. tim roth was terrible as the villian. I really didn't think much of the new cgi of hulk either. that is just me.

That is my opinion, Jacob. And if you look around in the movie discussion group, I think you'll find most people prefer the new Hulk to Ang Lee's. Also, I said the "Hulk" BD was good. I just don't agree that the PQ is a 5 out of 5.

No. If Jacob says you're wrong then you are wrong. Sorry. It's a new Forum Rule. Please revise your opinion.

Back on topic, I LOVE that green case!!!!
