I don't think we really know yet. Word of some exclusives should be popping up within the next week or two.

firteen88 11-21-08 12:05 PM

RockStrongo 11-21-08 12:31 PM

Yeah, thats why I am waiting...not impressed with anything they have put out yet.

Those screenshots are amazing. Especially the one of Two-Face.

rexinnih 11-24-08 07:51 AM

Nice. Can't wait to get this!

steebo777 11-24-08 08:28 AM

Damnit I need this... just looking at those screen shots made my mouth foam :D

MichaelMeyers 11-24-08 11:24 AM

Cannot wait for this to come out...only two more weeks to go...

Artman 11-24-08 01:45 PM

Besides the opening, which scenes are in the Imax format?

RichC2 11-24-08 01:53 PM

I got to see the BD of this the other day and have to say the IMAX sequences are the best I've seen anything in High Def look. The clarity was truly stunning.

There's a big long thread on AVSForum complaining about EE/DNR in it, but yeah, I'm going for they're on crack. It isn't a 100% perfect transfer but it does look pretty damn fantastic.

it's interesting though that the IMAX scenes are screen captured not in 1.78 but 2.35

that area of AVSForum has become a laughable parody of itself.

seriously. those people over there manage to suck the fun completely out of this hobby. do they even enjoy film or just tech?

highdefdigest.com got a review up too.

Tom Woodward 11-25-08 03:38 PM

I've just watched the Blu-ray (and the film!) for the first time. Very good film, but Christopher Nolan needs a slap in the face for the IMAX scenes. I found it seriously distracting having the aspect ratio changing every 5 minutes. Might not bother people that have seen the film before, but I really couldn't concentrate at times because of the constant switching! Must happen at least 15 times or so

RockStrongo 11-25-08 03:42 PM

He has said he hopes the next one will be completely shot in IMAX format.

Tell me, have you ever read Batman?

Yes, I know it's not the same, but anyone familiar with comics ought to be able to adjust, IMO.

Then you seriously would have hated seeing it in IMAX. Really, is the change from 2.35 to 1.78 that jarring on a widescreen tv???

I'd say it's more annoying on a widescreen tv because you'll notice it more. In IMAX I wasn't really bothered by it because the screen was so big that I didn't really notice the ratio changes.

Nope, I'm not a die hard Batman fan or anything - just love watching films! I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't be bothered by it, but it really distracted me. I had to explain to my dad half way through why it kept happening too and that took me out of the film even more ;) Heh

I'd have to say yes because I found it annoying. The transition is pretty seamless and I'm sure a lot of people will love the inclusion of them, but I really think it should have been an optional thing to choose on the menu.

I would say quite the opposite. An IMAX screen is HUGE. Any change would be amplified much more than on a smaller TV screen.

Whatever floats your boat.

For me, I'd notice it more on a tv because I'll notice the black bars more, than the IMAX screen. I agree with the other member, this should have been an option.

I haven't seen the blu-ray yet but I agree it should've been an option. And I expect it to be pretty noticeable at home.

fumanstan 11-25-08 06:39 PM

Watching it on IMAX was easily noticeable. It's hard not to tell when all of a sudden the top and bottom are filled in with the giagnto picture, but I can imagine that varying depending on where you sit and the size of the screen.

RockStrongo 11-25-08 06:51 PM

It's Nolan's movie.....so its his choice. We don't have a say.

If someone doesn't like the idea, then they can choose with their wallet.

Personally, Im glad they are including the version he wants us to see. It tells me that WB is listening to director's when preparing these for disc.

Nick Martin 11-25-08 07:02 PM

This is why I'm getting both the DVD and the BD, so both versions are available.

I don't look down on DVD so much that I would consider the standard theatrical-only version inferior or something.

NiCK Crush 11-25-08 09:36 PM

who's going to be getting the Bat-pod BD edition? I'm debating on whether or not it is going to be worth it...

I'd take a normal case with slipcover over a McDonalds looking toy that holds my $30 discs anyday.

fumanstan 11-25-08 09:39 PM

I think it looks a lot more cool then a Mcdonalds looking toy. If it was separate and didn't hold the discs in a crummy looking case I would get it, but I don't like the way the discs are held.

Thats my thought too. I really just wish it was just a statute and then came with the normal case.

NiCK Crush 11-25-08 10:03 PM

i really hope the BB.ca edition with the Clown Mask bust is going to be announced for the US... or has it already?
