The Iron Man case is pretty cool but the batpod itself looks like cheap plastic IMO.

DVD Polizei 11-25-08 11:24 PM

If you want a better Batpod thingie, I'd suggest this:

It's $95, and can be found at http://www.noblecollection.com

DthRdrX 11-26-08 12:14 AM

I like the Hot Toys version.

Have the Hot Toys Dark Knight figures been released in the US?

Stuff like that makes more sense. Buy the regular version of a movie instead of one with a cheap accessory for a lot more than it's worth and put the money you saved to something nice, if you really want something to display.

Ocelot 11-26-08 11:15 AM

I'll be getting the 2-disc steelbook edition... not gonna be cheap (it's a Canadian exclusive), but i want it...

firteen88 11-26-08 11:41 AM

So the steelbook won't be available in the US? That blows chunks

As long as it doesn't have all that french horseshit all over it, that is...

I'm not sure. I remember reading that some company might be putting them out in the U.S using the same molds. The Tumbler looks great but is way too much for my budget right now.

Yep. And a chunk just hit me square in the face.

This is true. I think Slideshow is releasing the Batman and Joker figures but mass produced. Which means, the paint job and overall quality won't be as good as the original Hot Toys release(limited and better quality).

DumaKey1212 11-27-08 10:36 AM

FutureShop also has a Blu-ray Steelbook edition for those interested.

gryffinmaster 11-28-08 11:08 PM

So there's some rumblings over in the Bargains forum about an additional cover at Circuit City -- one that uses the Why So Serious poster. that might be the case for the Blu-ray as well.

DthRdrX 11-28-08 11:33 PM

I checked on their website and so far it's only exclusive to the dvd release. Here's to hoping though.

Yes. DC Direct is importing all figures and vehicles except for the "Begins Suit" Batman.

Yea, I'd love to see them get this in for the Blu-ray as well.

dx23 11-29-08 08:54 PM

Speedy just posted the Target exclusive for Blu-ray and it looks pretty good:

NiCK Crush 11-29-08 09:49 PM

Yea, I'm all over that. Should look great on the shelf next to my Iron Man mask case.

musick 11-29-08 10:04 PM

Target case looks good (like IM)

Is that including the Tumbler and the Batpod? I'm not finding those on the DC Direct website. I'll be getting Batman, The Joker, and Two-Face, though.

Edit: Also, I will be getting The Dark Knight at Best Buy just for that playing card. I've been trying to find one for the longest time.

gryffinmaster 11-29-08 10:13 PM

Alright, last up is Circuit City ... oh, wait, closing stores won't have copies of this in, will they?

cant tell if youre serious or not... but, no...no they wont.

SIUmark 11-29-08 11:50 PM

I was hoping for a steelbook for The Dark Knight blu-ray. I guess I will get the mask case at Target. Too bad they didn't have a lot of exclusives for Batman Begins when it came out earlier this year.

RocShemp 11-30-08 12:08 AM

I'm still hoping for a cover based on the spliced together cards poster.

Warheart1188 11-30-08 12:51 AM

I'm getting mine at Circuit City. It has the cool cover and a journal. My buddy at BB can get me the playing card (I've already got 2 but they're different than the ad and he can get me like 10) and hopefully the figurines. I'm upset with Target, I was hoping for a bonus disc.

The steelbook is exclusive to FYE and the DVD version only( from what I've heard).

Ahhh, the ever-neglectful wink. Oops. ;)

Mr. Cinema 11-30-08 07:05 AM

I'm glad we're seeing a larger discounted price on The Dark Knight. I believe $24.99 is the lowest advertised price for a day & date title at B&M retail.

Kung Fu Panda was $22.99 at Best Buy :)

dx23 11-30-08 10:27 AM

Better pick thanks to johnsun over at the Target thread:

RockStrongo 11-30-08 11:42 AM

Hmm, Im not impressed with any of the collectible packaging. Ill probably import the steelbook or get the target mask. I dont know.

MichaelMeyers 11-30-08 11:48 AM

I'm debating canceling my Amazon order and going to pick this up at Best Buy on release date...not really interested in any of the exclusives....just want the movie.

Moopher 11-30-08 12:05 PM

Yeah, i'm not really up for collectibles and such, though the playing card would be pretty awesome. I'm just going to get my two steelbooks, one form Futureshop and one from Amazon.de.

Gizmo 11-30-08 12:11 PM

Bleh. All those collectibles look really cheap. I'll stick to my 3 Disc set from Amazon since there is no SB I can get.

RockStrongo 11-30-08 12:31 PM

I liked the Indy collectible packaging and also the Ironman helmet from Target...So, ill go ahead and get it there. The box looks about the same size as the Batman Begins special edition, so maybe they will look good on the shelf together.

Damn, they could have done so much better. I guess theres gonna be an eventual deluxe boxset with all three after Nolan completes the trilogy though.

The Dark Knight 2-disc is $22.99 in retail stores. That's the lowest price.

There's no 3 disc set. What are you talking about?

BravesMG 11-30-08 02:26 PM

The BD is 3 discs. Feature D1, Special Features D2, Digital Copy D3.

Cancel it. It isn't worth the wait when you can get it in stores. You're not saving any money ordering online, just increasing your wait time (in some cases you actually spend more money to get it the same day).

Confirmed. The digital copy will work with iPod/iPhones as well.
