Halle-fuckin'-lujah!

Fuck Christmas, this is all mine on release day.

Supermallet 09-26-08 06:20 PM

I'm not crazy about these limited editions that house the discs in something other than a regular Blu-ray case. I might get the limited edition just to have it, then buy the regular BD for watching.

I love the slipcover, but I'm a little surprised that the actual BD cover appears to be the Joker poster art. I wonder if it will be reversible and have the Batman/Burning Bat symbol art on the other side. I'd love a BD steelbook with the slipcover art, but I don't think that's going to happen.

As for the Limited edition, I always initially geek out at those things, but then I think about it and ask myself if I would buy the other stuff on its own if it was available separately and the answer is almost always no. So, I'll probably just get the regular BD release. When I see that limited edition in person though, I may change my mind.

Hmm, i agree....im torn between the 2

Gizmo 09-26-08 07:01 PM

2 Disc BD for me. Not interested in some cheap plastic toy that houses the discs.

GoldenJCJ 09-26-08 07:31 PM

I'll wait to see the quality of the Limited edition Batpod, if it's nice I'll pick it up. Otherwise, I'll stick with the regular BD edition.

With all those covers, Xage must be preparing to sell a kidney...

PopcornTreeCt 09-26-08 08:35 PM

Well, it seems like it's only 1 cover and slipcover. If a store offers an exclusive slipcover I'll probably pick that up. Cause the slipcover art is terrible.

-This is what I am thinking I might do as well...

-I'm still hoping somebody puts out a Blu-ray Steelbook in the States.

musick 09-26-08 11:35 PM

slipcover is brutal

guess it was let the interns handle the artwork day over at WB

tonymontana313 09-26-08 11:41 PM

I wonder what the exclusives are going to look like for this. I'm not sure what to expect since I was seriously underwhelmed with the exclusives for Iron man.

Supermallet 09-27-08 12:30 AM

That slip cover was a theatrical poster for the film. So is the inside cover. Don't know what the complaints are there. True, the Batpod was the weakest of the theatrical posters, but it's not new art made for home video.

tylergfoster 09-27-08 02:46 AM

I hated all the Joker posters except the "Why So Serious" blood one, which is, coversely, one of the coolest ever. I'm not a fan of what the color design of the posters do to him.

I'll be getting the Batpod, though.

mdc3000 09-27-08 08:57 AM

I like the art. I think the batpod poster was cool enough and the Joker inside cover art is great...can't wait for this one!

rexinnih 09-27-08 10:44 AM

Nice looking covers. Will think about the Bat Pod set but nice slipcovers always sucker me in.

In addition to being posted at DVDActive, it seems it's also the official announcement. Shame they don't go into more detail about the content but at least it confirms IMAX and BD-Live.

Gizmo 09-27-08 11:42 AM

BD-Live will probably be the feature where you can chat with your friends while watching the film.

Well, the theatrical posters weren't too great either.

Me too! Thought all were fantastic. I feel confident this will be the biggest selling BD so far :)

I strongly disagree (but hey, it's aesthetics and everyone has different taste). I thought almost all of the posters were awesome. Even if the movie had sucked, I'd still vote the Dark Knight as best collection of theatrical poster art for the year.

GenPion 09-27-08 05:04 PM

I like how that sheet uses a quote from Christopher Nolan to try and sell the Blu-ray edition.

Comingsoon.net reporting that there may be multiple slipcovers released in stores...

Count me as another one who liked pretty much all of the theatrical posters EXCEPT for the one with the Batpod. Can't believe they decided to use that one on the Blu-ray. Bring on the customer cover designs!
