I picked up the standard bluray at BB today. Was tempted by the other but using my RZ coupon and getting it for 14.99 was too good of a deal to pass up.

I'm wondering how the Imax to regular viewing transition will...little nervous it might ruin the movie.

Oh well still an awesome movie.

Glad the Digital Copy works with ITunes as this baby is going on my IPhone.

I pre-ordered the Dark Knight Blu Ray 3 disc edition from Warner Home Video months ago and it just arrived today... BUT, it was the 2 disc edition!

Email off to WHV, now wait.

Luck all,
George

There's only one Blu-ray release, which is 3 discs as far as I know. 1 for the movie, 1 for the special features, and 1 for the digital copy. Did yours really only come with 2 discs?

I bought both of the Best Buy gift sets (one being a Batman version, the other being a Joker), and am considering one or two of the foreign releases as well.

Best Buy was offering a free Joker card when you buy the movie (the one that appears in the poster where the Joker is holding a card up to his face). The location where I bought the movie never got sent the cards by their home office. The second location I tried already had run out. I tried the third and they gave me a whole pile of the cards. I only wanted one, but I'm not complaining.

He probably didn't open it and just assumed from the packaging... the outer box doesn't really make it clear enough... but yes, there is only ONE version on blu-ray (despite packaging differences) that is a 3 disc set.

hey! If there's anyway we could work something, I would really like one of those cards. I cannot make it to BB like I usually do and I'd love one! Please let me know if you're willing to part with it!

Sorry if this was already discussed. I scanned back a few pages and didn't see an answer. If anyone could tell me how much they paid for the Target exclusive bat mask set, it would be greatly appreciated. I could have sworn that it was around 24.99. I paid 29.99 and didn't notice untill I left.
thanks

It was 29.99 when I was at Target an hour ago. I didn't buy it in the end though.

OK thanks for the info. I guess I shelled out for the Incredible Hulk and Iron Man exclusives so I can hold onto this one as well.

I didn't really expect to do this when I went to Target, but I ended up picking up both the Mask version and the regular (slipcover) version of the BD. I'll open the regular one to watch and will probably keep the mask box intact for now. I figure I'll either keep it as a collectible for a movie I really love or possibly sell it down the road since it's limited.

Interestingly, I ended up with the last regular BD on the shelf, but there were plenty of mask versions (~7-8) still available.

I picked up the Target mask case myself. I think I like the feel of the case better than the Iron Man helmet one.

I really wanted to get the Circuit City dvd case with the journal and special cover too but all the CC's by me are closing and they didn't receive any.

Here is what my copy states on the front slip case packaging,

"The Dark Knight"
"Two-Disc Special Edition"

And, on the back it has information for Disc 1 and Disc 2 (no mention of Disc 3).

Inside, there are two discs and a third 'digital copy' disc.

George

The front of the Blu Ray case does not state, "Two-Disc Special Edition" like the slip case does. Am I good to go?

Yes, mine too. Disc 3 is a digital copy, which really serves no purpose hence why it's not mentioned.

There is no disc 3. It's just a bonus Digital Copy disk. Like every other 2-disc set released since the middle of the year. EDIT: PopcornTree beat me too it. Listen to him, he's wise in the way of the force. and stuff.

My local Target got blown up. Not a regular BD in sight, only 1 Batman mask one left and 2 Batpod ones left.

I picked up the standard Blu-Ray version today at Best Buy. I was able to get it for $23.99 by ordering on bestbuy.com with in-store pick up. Pretty damn cheap for a Blu-Ray.

I popped it in and watched some of my favorite scenes, including two of the Imax sequences (bank heist and tunnel/highway battle). The transfer isn't perfect but it certainly is far from bad. The Imax scenes look fantastic though and the audio quality rocks. I'm more disappointed with the extras than I am the video/audio quality of the Blu-Ray.

Yup, as far as extras go, this already screams another edition. I wish there was a nice 3 hour making of, similiar to the one on Superman Returns.

I don't think that all directors are willing to spill it all in a several hour making of documentary. Hell, they did even do a commentary for this one so I'm not holding my breath on a making of documentary in the future. What I could see happening is a tv special about Heath and his time making this movie with some behind the scenes footage strewn throughout.

After looking at Target today at the mask and the batpod edition. I actually want to say I like the batpod one better.

I need to decide here soon which one to get.
