Well, it can be cheaper from them. The thing is, if the put this on the Gold Box, how much are they going to discount it? Last year, I bought season 3 in their gold box daily deal for $40.00. If they put the correct MRP, maybe this year we can get it for $30.

Yeah...a gold box is possible but who knows if/when they will ever get around to it. Its well worth $50, I really enjoyed S4 and the BD has perfect PQ/AQ for a TV Show.

I don't know if it is well worth $50, it's still only 14 episodes. $50 is tolerable due to the quality of the show, but it should definitely be lower based on the number of episodes.

I should mention there is also a coupon included on the slip cover. Save $20 instantly with purchase of S4 on Blu-ray and any other Season of Lost (BD or DVD).

You have a valid point, but if you value quality over quantity, season 4 of Lost is very hard to beat.

The Constant itself is worth at least 20 dollars. The rest of the episodes make up the difference.

A bit off topic, but is this reduced number of episodes a trend? I just got "The Sarah Connors Chronicles" season 1 and was surprised to see there were only 9 episodes.

It was due to the strike. Now after their agreement with ABC there will be 2 shorter than usual seasons (5 and 6) of LOST in order to wrap up the storyline.

Ok, I forgot about the strike. I guess I just got used to getting 20+ episodes on "Lost" seasons. But I imagine that starts in the fall, so it makes sense for series that start in January to have fewer episodes.
I guess you can tell I don't watch much tv.

The plan for lost (as of the end of season three) was to have three more seasons of sixteen episodes each. The sixteen episodes would begin in late January and then run consecutively each week without interruption.
Then the writers went on strike while Lost season four was in production (with only 8 of the planned 16 episodes filmed). ABC then ran the completed eight episodes during the strike. After the strike ended, they were able to go back and shoot six more hours of Lost, bringing the season four total up to 14 episodes of a planned 16.
As it now stands, seasons five and six will each pick up an additional episode, bringing their totals up to 17, each picking up one of the missing hours of season four.

From CHUD:
(The above link might contain a little too much information for season five and beyond for folks who are particularly spoiler-sensitive.)
Q: Hey Guys, when will season one and two be getting the Blu-Ray treatment? Any plans?
Cartlon Cuse: Hi Jon. We have heard of no plans to go back and re-release seasons one and two on bluRay. But if I were a betting man I'd lay down a lot of money that you'll be ale to buy a complete series blu-Ray box set when all is said and done.

That's BS. They better not leave season 3 & 4 consumers out in the cold like that.

So that would be, what, probably December of 2010 at the earliest? Boo.
And I agree, Corvin, that is BS. I might end up selling my S3 & S4 next year sometime if they aren't going to release S1 & S2 alone at some point.

I'm just going to get the remainder of the series on DVD(they look good anyway)...... BUT I'll double dip and get the entire series(Season 1-6) on blu ray in 2010. This show is worth it, and I think when it's all said and done, will be considered the best scripted show EVER!

I would be personally very pissed if they don't release seasons 1 and 2 individually. And I bet that they don't unless people complain in large numbers (which is unlikely)
I can't think of any worse of a screw job since I've owned any dvd at all.
Why bother releasing 3, 4, and I'm assuming the last 2 and NOT planning to release 1 and 2? Do they think people want a set of 2 SD dvd sets and 4 BD sets? That's ridiculous.
And what kind of market will there be to sell BD sets that others will know won't ever lead to THEM having a complete set?
When Buffy-Chosen Collection came out, there was a market for the individual sets because people knew that they could get all of them.
If they don't release the other 2 seasons, aren't we buying product that, once the complete set comes out, has no value whatsoever unless you want to never have seasons 1 and 2 other than in SD?

That's what I figure, and if they don't announce S1 & S2 by next year sometime, I'll probably just dump any individual seasons I have while they are still in demand.

My guess is 3-6 BR, followed by the entire collection BR set, and eventually - with some time to allow you to buy the entire series in BR
- S1 and S2 on BR seperatly. Of course they'll then top it off with the Super Ultimate Collectors Directors Fan Set Series in BR Experience to tick everybody off.
