Thanks. They actually have some more titles I want now.

SD-DVD of Kill Bill 1 & 2 are now $12 for both, minus $10 Best Buy gift card by mail. Great deal for owners of Blu-Ray Kill Bill who want to take advantage of the Blu-Ray upgrade rebate. Even better deal for me because I already had a BB gift card.

So $12 for 2 movies & a $10 gift card. Damn. Any others eligible for the upgrade rebate?

Trevor 11-02-08 09:25 AM

Gangs of New York I think.

There are also a lot of titles in a 2/$12 or 5/$25 list, not with the giftcard deal, that may have BR upgrade rebates.

aktick 11-02-08 09:29 AM

So any of the Buena Vista ones (Kill Bill, Gangs of New York) have the rebate thing in the Blu-ray case, right?

Lord Rick 11-02-08 09:46 AM

My Kill Bill 1 and 2 Blu-Ray discs that I bought from Best Buy last month - both had the upgrade rebate in the case.

Do you have a link that allows you to preorder? This one says it's not available for preorder yet...

When I click the link it says it's available for Pre-order.

(but then again, I had already preordered it)

Available for me, and I DIDN'T preorder (and don't care to).

seymouru 11-02-08 12:33 PM

I swear it said "Click here to be notified.." etc. when I posted. Now it's back to letting you pre-order. No surprise, it's Amazon. Who knows what goes on over there.

The $100 off at Amazon deal changed. The Samsung BD-P1500 is no longer included, but various Sony players are, including the S300, S350, and S550!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...rd_i=193640011

They have a few new movies on there too that weren't before, like TMNT, 300, I Am Legend.

seymouru 11-03-08 09:55 PM

For those who didn't see the sticky in the Bargains forum, the DD sale runs from Nov. 7-23. This time around it's 25% off!!

Press release

I'll get excited when I see the prices pre-discount. Here's hoping they haven't been raised an extra 5%. :)

 No Shit.

I've already created my Wishlist, so it will be interesting if those prices will hold at the start of the sale.

coop22 11-03-08 11:44 PM

Secondspin.com has a 20% off + free shipping coupon. This applies to USED blu-rays. There are some especially good deals on box sets. I picked up the Die Hard Collection (all 4 movies) for less than $45 shipped (damn sales tax).

enter code heynow for discount

I typed in blu under title search to find blu titles...

Thanks for the heads up! I'm going to pick up the 550!

Thanks for the heads up on this. I picked up the Die Hard set as well, as I couldn't justify $80+ for a lackluster 1 & 2 transfer and PG13 LFODH (picked up the unrated DVD), but $45 is a steal.

Don't they usually end up "extending" the sale an additional week? If so, I would be in for all the Criterions.

No need to worry about raising them 5% - Band of Brothers was $61.xx yesterday and is $76.86 today. Still is a few bucks cheaper than Amazon after the 25% discount. This is just one item though, others I checked that were priced fairly high to begin with haven't changed so they'll be better deals.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I decided to get the S350 as a gift for my parents. The player was $224 at the time I got it - total including Standard Shipping was about $200 for the S350 and 4 Blu-rays. I figure it was equivalent to getting it for $186+tax locally which is about the same as the Sears Black Friday deal. I don't have to get up early and wait in line this way.

Last I looked BoB is 54.95 at Amazon, which is better than 25% off 76.86 (57.65).

We'll see how other items do.

Kill Bill Amazon Bundle

Amazon Gold Box deal. The Kill Bill 1 & 2 bundle is $27.25 for today only. I have been holding out for the Whole Bloody Affair cut but this is a very good price. I think that I'll bite.

RichC2 11-05-08 07:34 AM

Terrific price!

Especially when combined with $20 worth of rebates for spending $2 on the SDs at BB.

I checked a bunch of titles in to my wishlist yesterday. A random check showed that after the 25% off they were either slightly cheaper <$1 or about the same price as everyday prices I'm finding around. There is my favorite store in Syracuse that has a bunch of titles everyday at $14.99 and IJ4 at $19.99. So there may be some worth ordering but I think at this point the majority will be Christmas list material.

sbelli 11-05-08 12:53 PM

Bit on Kill Bill -- couldn't resist on a net total of $9.95 for two Blu-Rays ($2 for the SD versions and then $7.95 after $20 rebate).

Anyone know if the Amazon Kill Bill double-pack has the upgrade rebate forms? Or are we going to have to request them?

Mr. Cinema 11-05-08 01:04 PM

Amazon.com has the 2005 version of House of Wax for $13.95, for the few fans of that movie.

Covered in detail in a couple of threads. Here's one.

Drama King 11-05-08 03:46 PM

I posted this in the warner section but forgot to here...

Warner has a holiday sale and has dropped prices!! They have some Blu-Rays for 14.95 dropping them to 11.21 with the 25% code (NBBM8) and others from 19.95 to 14.97 still need 50 for the free ship and these are older titles, but if you don't have them it's a great deal.

The link is

Quake1028 11-05-08 08:39 PM

Had to get in on the Kill Bill deal. Got it for $26.55, and I still have my SD copies, so getting $20 back will be a breeze.

DthRdrX 11-05-08 08:53 PM

Yep, picked up Kill Bill 1/2 as well! Thanks for the heads up!

I was planning on trying to get the Sony S350 from Sears on Black Friday too. With this great deal now I don't have too. It worked out to about $8 more than the tax added charge at Sears would be but now I will get 4 movies for that $8. There was no guarantee at Sears that they would have any left in strock by the time I got there also. This is a sure thing and a great deal and I think I have about $115 worth of Sony rewards accumulated on my Sony Visa rewards that I can apply as credit to this purchase. I saw this deal about a week ago before they added the Sony, glad I checked again tonight. Now I can final get the full potential out of my Sony 1080p TV.

I chose Corpse Bride, 300, 10,000 BC and Speed Racer.
2 movies I like ( Corpse Bride and 300 ) and 2 that I have yet to see but expect to like although I have been wrong before.

I'm Happy!!!
