Thanks.

Will pop it in check right now.

Edit: Miniseries is included. Just popped the first disc in, and it's on! :)

But how does it look, man! Do tell!

Just got back from Fry's here in Nor Cal (Roseville) and besides what's in their ad, nothing is marked down at all. :(

Looks frakking great. I'm not too savvy with the lingo but, appears to be quite a bit of grain like review said. Looks great either way though. Yay. Now if only they would release Seasons 2 and 3, on blu.

kenbuzz 04-07-08 10:09 PM

Sweet.... I'm expecting my "shipped on 3/27" order to arrive any day now. And I'm psyched that the miniseries is included, even though I'll take some of the heat for the original confusion.

AU$31.66 (GST Free) + AU$9.50 s/h = AU$41.16 = US$38 or so. Still available.

Got my ezydvd order today as well...thought it was odd the hddvd cases are thicker- more like regular dvds.

Wow. BSG HD-DVD in actual HD-DVD cases?

I'm digging that packaging so much more than the R1 release.

It's really similar to like PS3 cases or the Planet Earth HD DVD

HistoryProf 04-08-08 01:38 AM

man...i'm hoping they end up blowing out more at those prices. I'm still shocked i got them in exactly one week from australia. in fact, they managed to get those to me faster than an order from DDD placed a day earlier

That makes two of us. I was quite pleased in the amount of time I got it in. I placed my order for BSG Season 1 four days later, I really hope that makes it here soon.

And, without sounding like a complete idiot, these will play in any HD-DVD player, correct (the ones from Australia, I mean)?

I'm wondering if this is regional pricing or if FYE is getting ready to drop the price even more. I'll have to check my other FYE locations to see if they are also pricing it at $79.

I live in Utah, they had $99 price stickers on them and then a larger yellow $79 "Closeout Special" tag right below it. Maybe it is something that the manager of the store by me is doing. I'm going to stop by today to see if either one is still there. He told me they had been out on the clearance table for a week when I was in there a couple days ago, so it doesn't look like they are going very fast.

This might seem silly, but I don't know a store called Hastings.. is this in North America or the UK? @_@ do they have a website? What is the full name of the store so that I can do a search?

Thanks

I know they are in North America, and Hastings is their complete name. Here is a link to their website.

edstein 04-08-08 11:57 AM

Who is the shipping carrier for these discs from Australia? UPS or USmail?

mazzystar 04-08-08 12:07 PM

Usmail I believe.

edstein 04-08-08 06:58 PM

I received my BSG set from ezydvd today. It was shipped on March 31st.

mazzystar 04-08-08 08:37 PM

Very happy with Ezydvd's shipping. I ordered Lucky Number Slevin from deep discount the same day, and have yet to receive it.

Mine shipped 8 days earlier. Of course, Kansas is MUCH closer to Australia than Indiana. :grumble:

DanDaMan069 04-09-08 04:17 AM

went back to my local CC to see if they still had the bin full of hd dvd's for 50% off (where i was lucky enought to grab around 12 titles at 50% off their online price last week including american gangster and tranformers for $9.99 which by the way were not in the 50% off bins on the store floor, BUT in a box behind the CS counter..i was lucky enough to see this box behind the counter and asked if i could have those also for 50% off of their web which they did) and they had filled the floor bins back up to the top, with titles that they had kept in the stockroom so they didnt sell for 50% off!! SOB's..LOL Anways, there was no sale as we all thought due to the fact there were no hd dvd's in CC ad... but i spoke to a manager and he said they "anticipate" a 75% off hd dvd's this weekend (didnt say sat or sun) to get rid of all of them! i dont know if this is CC wide, or just a local managers sale...but i know that nobody is going to buy them at full msrp during the week..and they have a few hundred left..i hope he was telling the truth!

Wish that Total Recall would drop some more. Interested since it's unavailable in the States, but not sure if I'm interested enough to pluck down $17.70 US (Including shipping) for it.

Anyone got it? Decent transfer?
