MOD NOTE:

1. Please quit all the bitching back and forth.
2. Please discuss the clearance deals, not one another.
3. Please do not discuss ebay. As far as we're concerned, ebay is not a deal, even if they're giving stuff away for free.

Best Buy lowered the prices of Shaun of the Dead and Pitch Black back to $10.49. I don't get it.

MOD NOTE:
  • sigh. Removed a whole bunch of posts.
  • Discuss the DEALS, or you'll be suspended.
  • I don't want to see an "I'm sorry about discussing ebay" post or a "Thanks for cleaning up this thread" post either.
  • And, most likely, next time we have to clean up this thread, we'll lock it permanently.

Kmart near me had 5 xbox 360 hd-dvd drives for $37 - thought that was a pretty good deal, considering the free movie (king kong) and free remote, even though i have an A2. It actually seems more user friendly than my A2, which is a bit on the slow side (and no backlit remote).

That's why I find it to be pretty weird. I scour the websites everyday, and this just recently changed.

My brother runs the home appliance department at Best Buy Corporate, and he can usually dig up info. So far though, he hasn't been able to find a thing about HD DVD's. I've got him working for me to see what their plan is for the remaining discs.

Prices of the XA2 are definitely going up. Check out the closing prices on eBay. Here is one that went for $770 with shipping!

deleted eBay link even though it was a closed auction.

Hey all. When I first heard about BV selling off their HD DVD's I went and asked at the local store a few weeks ago. The lady said they were "just sending them back". A few days later they were gone. On a whim I stopped by last night and they were out with the $14.99 stickers on them. They rang up 2 for $20 without me asking. The selection wasn't the greatest, but I picked up Goodfellas, Flags, Blades, and Happy Feet for $40. If your local BV wasn't selling them before it might be worth a trip back to check. Hope this helps someone.

How pissy would they be if I bought a bunch this week and then came back next week to get a price adjustment?

$10-$15 dollars after 50% off at CC seems like a good deal. I will check that out.

Does anyone know if CC stocks the Battlestar Galactic set and think it will be included in this sale?

All the HD DVDs at my local CC are in a bump bin at the front and all the prices are pretty high, $24.99 up to $34.99 IIRC.

The only reason I will probably check out this sale is the fact that I got a $100 GC off my credit card rewards program earlier this week.

It might be the best way to nab the titles you want before others get to it next Sunday.

I'm just misunderstanding this I guess. So all titles are 50%off at CC on March 30?

I wouldn't hold your breath. Probably 50% off MSRP. Amazon will probably have caught up price-wise by then. But it's worth a shot taking a look.
