$20.99 at the moment, so Family Video will probably have the cheapest price once they stock it - they usually sell BU titles for $16.99 each, including the upcoming The Nesting. I'm somewhat torn on that one - I watched a VHS copy and found the film to be pretty dreary, but I'm really a sucker for any 70's/80's horror film on Blu-ray. The inclusion of any extras might sway me, but the fact that it's a bare-bones disc makes me more inclined to skip it.

Torso will hopefully come down some. At least its a few months away so it has plenty of time. As for The Nesting it doesn't look like it is very good and the stuff I've read online doesn't help sway that thought but when I get a good deal on it I'll probably pick it up if only to support BU for continually putting out a quality product and hopefully get them to release more new titles.

The Dorm, etc doesn't interest me too much, but I do wanna get The Image after watching The Lickerish Quartet last night and Little Mother a few months back. The Nesting sounds interesting, but not high on my list.

Deep Red and Cat O' Nine Tails were both $14.99 pre-orders pretty much right off the bat (Deep Red took a week to drop to $14.99), which doesn't bode well for a Torso price-drop, but we'll see.

Cat O' Nine Tails was listed at well over $20 (as high as $26.99) for quite a while.

Really? I double-checked first on www.camelcamelcamel and their highest price was $15.99. Anyhoo, I'll just pre-order from Family Video once their listing appears and then cancel if Amazon's price drops.

Yea, it was really early on in the pre-order stages, even before cover art was up, but definitely the same listing because I saved it in my cart. It started around $20.99 and jumped up to $26.99 pretty quick and stayed there even after the cover art was put up.

That's correct. I've been watching the price since the beginning as well. When it went down to $15.99, I alerted camelcamelcamel which is why that's showing up as the highest price.

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

From Blu-ray.com--
I emailed Blue-Underground recently about several horror titles and I received an email back. They said this about 'ZOMBIE':

Thank you for your email. First, we are working on a brand-new "Ultimate Edition" Blu-ray of ZOMBIE for release around Halloween. The new HD transfer is absolutely stunning, and the disc will be loaded with brand new interviews with almost every surviving cast and crew member.

Thanks! I definitely appreciate it, and I'm glad to hear you had the same reaction to the movie that I did.

THE ORIGINAL SEXY '60s CULT CLASSIC IS BACK!
It is the 21st Century, and society's lust for violence is satisfied by "The Big Hunt," an international game of legalized murder. But when the sport's two top assassins (Marcello Mastroianni and Ursula Andress) are pitted against each other, they find that love is the most dangerous game of all. As the world watches, the hunt is on. Who will become THE 10TH VICTIM?

THE 10TH VICTIM is the international cult classic whose wild action and sexy style has influenced a generation of movies, from THE RUNNING MAN to the AUSTIN POWERS series. Now this outrageous satire has been newly remastered from the original negative and is presented here in groovy High Definition!

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

Nice, a full-length Mastroianni doc! Here's a synopsis, from TCM:
A life filled with sweetness. His sweet look, his foxy smile and his legendary indolence allowed him to remain slightly detached and to protect his private life. Even today, saying Mastroianni or Marcello evokes an era: a world made up of skill, beauty, charm, kindness and seduction. The documentary starts off with an old documentary created by Antonello Branca in 1964, in which Mastroianni is shown at the height of his success, and contains interviews with Mastroianni recorded at various moments throughout his life, excerpts from his films, shots taken on set, testimonies from his daughters Barbara and Chiara as well as actors, directors and the people close to him.

Deleted and extended scenes are now part of the extras on The Nesting. The (NSFW) trailer is up at BU's site here.

So, is the BU or Arrow version of Deep Red the way to go?

It's looking like Arrow for the extras and BU for the picture.
