So is it likely the PS3 bundles will change anytime soon?

Maybe when Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is released (~June 2008)...? i hope so - looking to get an 80GB. i'll be stocking up on a few Blu Ray discs until then.

I'll eat my shoe if Metal Gear Solid 4 makes it out by June of this year.

QFT. I got a surprise yesterday, and found a 40GB PS3 sitting on the floor in the office room (courtesy of the best grandma ever). She said it was $399 at Future Shop and included Virtua Fighter 5. She also bought me NBA 08 and Ratatouille (PS3 VG). No Blu-ray disc yet, but hopefully I'll get my first sometime today.


I used to not agree with this type of statement, but from a business point of view, it would make no sense whatsoever to cut prices. I still think Blu-ray discs need price cuts, but the player (or PS3 as BD player) is reasonably priced. I mean if you want a decent DVD player, it's going to run you $60 and above, so why not just saving that money a little longer and get a PS3 that plays Blu-rays, upconverts DVDs, and plays video games as a bonus.


I still see the Spidey bundles advertised in the Best Buy flyers as well.

And I use it for a lot more than that too. IMO, for all it can do, $399 is a great price.

Hell yes. And proof of that is that up until recently Sony was losing money on every unit sold.

I just learned today you can burn HD video clips on DVD-Rs playable on the PS3, so I'm definitely keeping my new (used) version.

That blue PS3 is one ugly fucker. That is all.
