Yep. I already owned quite a few HD DVDs (50 or so), but have picked up 10 more at HV and if they get in Michael Clayton and/or In the Valley of Elah, I'll get two more.

I got an open box floor-model A35 from BB the other day for $120 - $5 no manual - $20 gift card - $15 reward zone bucks = $80 + tax. Decent price IMO since I don't plan on replacing too many of my HD DVDs... my A1 is finally retired + I now have DTS-HD MA for my imports! But no, I am NOT buying HD DVD ex-rentals.

Even if I disliked them I could resell those ones on eBay for around $20 bucks.

I bought a few HD DVDs from deepdiscount.com at $10. I'm not a big fan of used disc so I haven't bothered with those sales.
This week I bought a Xbox 360 HD DVD drive for $50 to use with my PC. I have a Toshiba HD-A2 right now and wanted to find an XA2 or A35 to use and demote my A2 to a backup player. The XA2 is still more than I'd like to pay and I missed out on all the A35 deals. Today I got lucky and found a new HD-A30 in stock at Crutchfield for $119.99 shipped with a free shipping coupon, I snagged the last one. I figure it will be a better DVD upconverter and I won't care much about the audio differences.
I now have 3 HD DVD players, and close to 50 discs owned and ordered. Paid about $270 total for all three players. I'm still glad I bought into HD DVD.
I also have a PS3 and ~50 Blu-rays but the PS3 cost me $500.

Well, as far as I can tell, the one's I've bought look fine. For instance, I bought American Gangster and looking at the disc, it's spotless, in fact, the manager mentioned that she had just gotten that in... Including the cost of the replacement case, I paid maybe $9 for it.

I did buy an extra 360 add-on for $50 (which was valid for the 5 disc mail-in rebate).
I would like a HD-A35 and many more discs, but I'll wait and see how the prices fall. I'm not paying more than $10 disc shipped. Higher than that, I'd rather wait for the BD version.

Granted this includes some Christmas presents which were above my price point ($35 for Blade Runner I'd never do, but as a present? YES), and some are rentals from HWV. Also had to take advantage of some glitches and coupons, but nothing I haven't seen before. All in all, the more effort expended the better the savings, IMO.
