I noticed amazon dropped prices on many of the blu-ray and hd-dvd they have had on sale in the last few weeks BOGO deals. All have dropped about $5. So you might be able to get some adjustments. Also, this is not a complete list, so feel free to add what you find..

how do you go about requesting a price adjustment?

Go to help and contact customer service. It will bring up a page where you can select the order/item at issue.

I have never had a significant price adjustment, usually less than $1 but it's been automatic. I would guess for a larger amount you would need customer service.

on phone with amazon right now should be getting around a $6.00 refund. this makes the deal even better. 1 blu ray movies for under $100. Now I just need to get my PS3

I have so far received $28.30 in refunds for price drops on X-Men Last Stand, Casino, Dune, Serenity, and The Deer Hunter. Big ones left are Spartacus and Jarhead. Then I go for small ones like House of 1000 Corpses, Weeds S1, and Reservoir Dogs.

I assume they credit this back to your particular card, as opposed to adding a credit for the amount to your account?

How long does it take for amazon to email you back with a response?

I sent most of my e-mails 10:00 this morning, got responses around 7 PM. The system was kind of screwy, I resent some for orders I didn't get responses on.

I just sent them 10 different e-mails and mentioned I was a Prime Member. Let's see if they go through..

I asked for an adjustment on Kingdom of Heaven, 20 Million Miles from Earth and Stardust.

If you use their system correctly, you can add items from many different orders and send them all in one e-mail. It makes things a lot smoother and they will do everything in one transaction.

How can you do that? The form I used to email them asked for one order number in its own field up top.

I asked for all my HD DVD purchases to be given to me for free.

Good point, but I've never been denied, and I've done this a lot. Luck of the draw, I guess?

Anyhow, the way you do this is to press the contact customer service via email button. Find your first item and add a check mark next to it, then press the e-mail tab. Then press the add more items link and click the left arrow next to "more orders," which will bring up more orders. From each order you see, click the check box, then press add/remove items. Then repeat the cycle.

I bought Die Hard 1-3 and Xmen: Last Stand on the BOGO sale. I emailed them and this was their response.

So, basically, I got back $33.84 on my order of $55. So, in essence, I paid $22 for those 4 Blu Rays. :banana:


I also requested a refund on the Toshiba HDA3, but I think I'm about 3 days outside of their 30 day window.

I put in for a credit from today's sale on Digital Video Essentials" at about 3pm, and got a positive response four hours later.

I almost wish I had gotten my BOGO order in before they lowered the price on FF:ROTSS ... then I would have gotten X-Men3 and FF2 for $11.49 (after the price match).

In any case, if this goes through, then I would have gotten them for $14.49 total. Still a great deal!

you shouldn't be.

their price adjustment policy is in line with their return policy since you can theoretically return and rebuy the item.

during the holidays, their return policy is any purchases between November X (i forget the exact date) and December 31 can be returned by Jan 31.

So any items purchased during these dates may fall into the price match window.



edit: My Superbad purchase from 12-5 was just credited back to me so it seems to be right.

Ok, well since I bought the it on December 8th, maybe I'll get the refund. If I do, fantastic, but if I don't, not the end of the world either. The 3 freebie movies more than made up for it.

I put in for 5 refund requests, and got a response on 4 of them within 5 minutes! Maybe the last one got sent around the world...
