Went to Best Buy today and saw that they had a BOGO free for HD DVD. I bought Disturbia and The Big Lebowski. There were about 7 other movies, off the top of my head, I remember, Bourne Identity, Bourne Supremacy, BackDraft......and i Can't remember the others. The clerk who I went to didn't know about this BOGO, but it's real. Hope someone else can fill in the other HD DVDs.
I have both formats, but do prefer HD DVD, so I hope this helps some people.

The format war was very good for consumers. I haven't bought an HD disc yet this year. Looks like I am back to renting until some decent sales start emerging and who knows when that will happen with the HD war all but over.Originally Posted by candyrocket786

It's not just the prices. The lack of titles is what's really keeping me from making any purchases recently. Especially on the HD-DVD side. They've got almost nothing on tap.Originally Posted by darkside

Recently getting Netflix is really giving me reason to rethink almost all my purchases. I saw 3:10 to Yuma last night (on Blu-ray from Netflix). It was an awesome movie in my opinion. In the past, I would have just purchased it to see it. Instead, I rented and loved it. But... not sure if I need to see it again any time soon. So I'm not gonna buy it. Weird. I think I'm going to save money in the long run by joining Netflix. Especially since I vowed not to buy any non-TV SD-DVDs anymore.

It would be cool to have another big sale.
Blu-ray should have a 'Pre V-day' sale for their looming victory over HD DVD.
Then, ofcourse, another once they've won...

Has anybody heard of a new mail-in program for free discs when you buy a BD player? The current one expires Thursday and I want to pull the plug on getting a PS3. Just looking for a better selection of movies!

No news. I wouldn't buy the PS3 for the free movies anyway since you'll be waiting 3 months to get them. Buy that player today! And get Netflix so you can let the games begin!Originally Posted by JSwarce

The only deal I have found lately is Gamestop. They now have B2G2 free on all DVDs and HD movies. Granted you have to get lucky enough to find one that has any HD movies. I found one today that had Reign Over Me and World Trade Center and I wanted both of those in HD. They had several other HD DVDs, but I already owned them all except for the Grinch That Stole Christmas so I grabbed that and the Richard Pryor Franchise DVD set from Universal as my free discs. Not bad for $35 including tax.

Superb deal for Lost S3! Took advantage of this one. ~nice find~
Added King Arthur Blu-ray for $14.99 so I could use the Amazon Visa $5 coupon. So :
Lost S3 $39.99
King Arthur $9.99
Not bad
