I don't see why they can't do TrueHD if the film is 143 minutes and there's nothing else on disc 1.
I hate to say it, but Paramount not being neutral seems to have stalled their drive to use lossless.

Wow, how could Paramount go lossy on their crown jewel of 2007? This was the main reason why I went format neutral but I think I'm going to wait on reviews first.

I was hoping this would be a combo disc. I know people hate them, but I like to keep my original DVD collection intact for if and when the HD format dies... my DVD collection will always be there. Combo discs were great for me not having to double dip on day and date releases.

Well if the format fails and the players eventually do die and they stop making HD-DVD players for whatever reason... I want to be prepared. Your HD-DVD player won't last forever.

This is good release strategy. Transformers not only comes out 2 weeks before Spider-man 3, but Toshiba's Gen 3 players should be widely available around the same time. I'm sure Paramount and Toshiba will join for a cross promo.
