Thanks for the confirmation. I was hoping for deleted scenes as well but I'm guessing that's for the double dip. Either way still a first day purchase for me.

I'll definately pick this up when it comes out. Now I have to figure out the best way to skip past that whole spanking the monkey discussion to avoid questions from the kids. Funny for us, but I'm not ready for that conversation with my 8-year-old.

I knew about it ahead of time and when it started in the theater, we conveniently took a bathroom break.

Pre-ordered!

Incredible that the HD-DVD one is outranking the SD 2 disc right now (HD-DVD #8, SD #11)

Further proof that Amazon sales ranks are largely irrelevant. Anybody that wants an HD DVD without getting bent over is gonna order it from Amazon. The regular DVD? It'll probably be available at Home Depot for $13.99 on release date.

Awesome about the release being so early as well as a PIP feature. I will most certainly buy it,but anyone else worried about the IMAX Extended Cut being released in a double dip?

I don't consider that a double dip. If it is a different cut of the film, I don't mind buying again.

Re-releasing the same film with different/additional bonus features is a double dip to me, and I don't fall for that.

I know this is a fanboy nitpick, but has anyone heard if the subtitles on the DVD releases will be fixed when Brawl identifies himself as Devastator?

Transformers HD DVD is #4 on Amazon's top 100. The 2-disc DVD set is #14.

Other than the special effects / action sequences, how is this movie? Is it a quality flick or better as a demo? I missed it in the theater.

It's definitely not the best action movie ever made and some of the dialogue is crappy (which is in every Bay movie), but I thought it was fun to watch. One of the few Summer movies that was entertaining, imo.

the movie is average...nothing special...LOTS of cheesy lines. This movie is for high school kids and younger crowd. I'll wait for it on sale 2 for the price of 1 for me to pick it up.

It's frankly a bad movie. But when you pay to see a bigscreen version of Transformers, you kinda expect a cheesefest of that magnitude. It delivered for the most part in terms of robot carnage. And obviously it'll be incredible video and audio demo material(despite the lack of a lossless track).

nor did it help that the script writers decided to write in too many non-robot characters, this movie didn't need to be an over two hour+ action flick. The action scenes were the films only saving grace IMO.

I disagree....it was also geared towards us who grew up in the 80s with these toys.

I really like the cover art.

I know it's basically one of the one-sheets with the background removed but it almost feels like a Criterion cover this way.

I like it alright, but wish it had the background instead of white....looks amateurish with the white.

I hope Megatron is on the back!

One of the HD sites said that was "early" artwork. It looks like a promo cover, similar to what Disney sometimes uses. I think we'll see an alternative that'll have LaBouf and Fox on the cover, surrounded by Transformers.
