Bleh....your probably right.

Id rather have this one with a background or just the autobot symbol (maybe have an alternate autobot/decepticon symbol slip cover).

Why is it 2 discs? Hot Fuzz was jammed packed with extras all on one disc. First Post!! Yeah!!

Because two discs is one disc more better than a one disc set. Therefore Transformers = more awesome than Hot Fuzz, due to having another disc.

I vehemently disagree with you on that statement.

Paramount/Dreamworks are really keen on high-def extras -- they're about the only HD DVD-supporting studios that consistently bother to do so -- so that likely has something to do with the two disc split too.

I think it could also have something to do with not wanting to have fewer discs than the DVD edition, making people think that they might be getting less in high-def.

I think he was being sarcastic in regards to the number of discs.

The studios have tried to push the perception that a 2 disc set is better than 1 disc (even though that isnt always true). They have been pretty successful at pushing that and people think they are getting a better deal.

I normally think 2 discs are better then 1 when it comes to DVDs. I should know that it isnt always the case.

Just like a DVD is better when they label it "Special Edition".

With Transformers being 2 discs, it certainly makes you wonder why they didn't include a TrueHD track, since disc 1 is just the movie and IME. I hope it gets included, similar to what happened with Superman Returns.

Its not and its 1.5mbps, BUT I think its a big mistake for such a huge release to not include TrueHD.

Call me Susan but me thinks this release will offer some pretty earth shattering audio even without the TrueHD. THough, why it was apparently not included is a mystery.

Yeah, I agree...its gonna be stellar. King Kong sounded awesome to me and it was + only.

But, it would be nice to have the best available audio option.

Most people cant even tell a difference and/or do not have the equipment to utilize it. But still, it should be on there.

I think more than anything right now, it is giving people another reason to criticize the format.

According to an ad I've seen a couple of times on TV, this is officially the cover of the HD DVD:

However, the cover for the single disc DVD is this:

Although, acording to Amazon, that's a slipcover that goes over this:

Not a friggin slip cover. Next you'll have custom shaped packaging/cases and kinds of crazy sh!t like you do on DVD. I couldn't stand the non-uniformity in appearance due to so many Special Edition 2-disc sets that felt compelled to have some sort of eye catching (marketing) case. Anyone ever recall the Total Recal round POS cannister case?

As for the lack of a True HD or PCS track; this is so you will be forced to double dip when it's re-released next year. It will be Transformers 1.5 with DTS MS and True HD tracks.
