I have 12 Blu-ray titles

Big Fish
Black Hawk Down
Casino Royale
Corpse Bride
The Departed
Into the Blue
Kingdom of Heaven
Mission Impossible III
Planet Earth
Stranger than Fiction
Talladega Nights
Tears of the Sun

There are a lot more coming out that I'm sure I'll pick up. I only buy movies I really like, and the rest will be rented from Netflix.

It seems a few people here must own nearly every Blu-ray or HD-DVD title that has been released... they can't possible like them all. Several of the ones I've rented I certainly would have no desire to watch more than once!

I've bought some titles (because they were cheap), and I thought I'd like 'em, but they sucked and ended up selling them and seriously ate it on the resale/trade.

^Yes. The resale market is almost non-existent for HD discs. And it is hard to buy them at bargain prices (I pay about $5 for SD DVDs, so $18 for HD DVDs seems like a lot to me).

I have 17 HD DVDs plus one five disc set. Not a whole lot released yet that I really want to own versus just watch once.

For me TV on DVD has more viewing value than movie DVDs, but there isn't likely to be much TV on HD DVD or BD anytime soon. I've been waiting a couple of years to blind buy Battlestar Galactica (new series) on HD DVD; I hope that it comes out this year as expected.

I have a small collection. All I have are these 14 HD DVDs:

The Adventures Robin Hood
Batman Begins
The Bourne Supremacy
DVE: High Definition
Enter The Dragon
The Last Samurai
Miami Vice
The Mummy Returns
Pitch Black
The Rundown
The Sting
Superman
Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut
Superman Returns

I shouldn't feel too bad, though, given I've yet to buy an HD player.

I don't understand why anyone even buys new. If you got some patience and can wait 3-4 weeks for the new releases, you'd save alot.

The prices, as they are now, are quite ridiculously high.

I've been getting ALL my HD DVD & Blu-ray's off Ebay and boards like this. My limit is $15/each shipped to my door.

I've done quite well so far. I own over 150 now...

They are pretty good. I only really watched 1 or 2 on my projector but the quality is much better than hbo or showtime on cable and very close to the hd-dvd and blu-ray, but you cant switch chapters and no extras. you really cant find that many movies on d-theater anymore, last time i checked e-bay had like 2 available. Also the demo tape i have which i did watch a few times has degraded a bit and i have no idea if any of the other tapes have glitches so that could be a problem.
