You are correct, and the discount is still effective. However, a lot of people have reported that the discount doesn't always apply itself to pre-orders as it should. In the event that it doesn't, e-mail Amazon and they will happily (I'm sure, as they seem to be nice folks and all) fix the problem.

Yah, i got the discount too, 7 bucks, it shows up when you choose your credit card. You get asked whether you want to use the money from the "coupon" for this sale. Only got the movies, not the ultimate collection.

Thanks for the replies. It works now. It looks like my problem was that I also had a 10.00 promotional certificate in there that was interfering with it applying. The system wouldn't let me apply both at the same time.

Hey guys,
Got my screener of the TRILOGY set today (3 movie set) and thought you'd be interested in knowing exactly what's included. In addition to the deal in the above post for Animatrix (the set comes with an insert that had a download code printed on it - you must have an XBox LIVE Silver account to get it), the specs are as follows:
Exclusive New "In-Movie" Experiences For Each Film
Plus these additional Bonus Features in Standard 480p:
Written Introduction by the Wachowski Brothers
Commenatries By:
- Philosophers: Dr. Cornel West & Ken Wilber
- Critics: Todd McCarthy, John Powers & David Thomson
- Cast/Crew: Carrie-Anne Moss, Zach Staenberg & John Gaeta for The Matrix
- Composer: Don Davis with Music-Only Track for The Matrix
Behind The Matrix Documentary Gallery: 18 Total Featurettes Including The MTV Movie Awards Reloaded
The Music Revisited: 41-Track Audio Selection of nearly 3 hours of music
Music Videos: Marilyn Manson's Rock Is Dead and P.O.D.'s Sleeping Awake
Enter The Matrix: The Game Documentary
Enter The Matrix: View 23 Live-Action Scenes shot for the Video Game that plug into the action of The Matrix Reloaded
Theatrical Trailers & TV Spots
Audio for the films includes both Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital-Plus, with French 5.1 and Spanish 2.0 also included.
Haven't had a chance to look at the movies yet!
Just so everyone knows, each of the three DVDs are all single-sided and NOT flippers.

Are the movies in the Complete Matrix Trilogy the same as in the Ultimate set?
Amazon indicates 1080P in the Ultimate set but not in the Complete set.

Got my hands on The Complete Matrix Trilogy set early and watched the first film last night. Still haven't managed to scrape my jaw up from the floor.
Fans of the Matrix universe are going to be VERY happy with this set.

I think I'll be getting in on Best Buy's $299 HD-A2 sale next week and this might be my first HD purchase. I'm dying to replace my old DVD (I have the original). Not too excited about buying the other two, but if you buy the set, you get two other HD titles for free. So that $80 price tag they have isn't looking nearly so bad for the Trilogy and two other titles.

Just finished watching Matrix - very impressive
I went for the trilogy set as I couldnt justify the extra cash for the extras which are the same as those I already have!! (Especially as I have a US XB live account a should be able to download Animatrix
)

I was all set to buy an HD-DVD player strictly for The Matrix (and the $100 instant rebate promotion) until I realized that you had to buy the trilogy and they did not do a single release of the first film.
Guess I will wait a bit longer to throw my hat into the HD ring.

Isn't worth the money to me, but a $299 player + 2 free movies of my choice + 5 more from Toshiba is very tempting.
