Update to the latest firmware (1.6). It apparently resolves a lot of playback issues.

If you've already got the Ultimate DVD set, just get the trilogy set and you'll be fine.

Put me down for the 4086 4203 club too. First movie played first time, the other 2 movies gave me the code the first time I put in the disc. Ejecting the disc and closing it again let the movie play.

So is the whole 'Get The Animatrix on XBox Live' deal for an HD version?

I just checked on the marketplace and there are no HD versions of the Animatrix available for download, only SD.

Thats in line with what cj said too...he said they couldnt find an hd transfer of it. He also said anyone claiming it is planned for HD on BD is wrong.

Such a shame. No HD for Animatrix was one of the big reasons I didn't give the box set a Collector's Series review. It's just wrong that Matriculated should be in SD while Revolutions gets the HD treatment.

So how long do you think it will be before they release these individually?

I like the first movie, but didn't care for the second two. Not going to spend $80 on one movie that I like (although I wish I had gotten in on that Circuit City deal).

Not this year. Probably next Summer. They'll want to cash in on the box set for Christmas.

I feel the exact same way. I got in on the CC deal. I'm wondering if I should sell or break the seal. Advice please?

I got this set the other day with the amazon uk deal. I tried it out today, and I can't figure how to get the trueHD track to play. I have an A2, I tried setting my hdmi audio to "auto" & "pcm", both times it just plays the dd+ track, and there's no menu selection to play the trueHD. I have the onkyo705 if that matters. thanks

You have to choose TrueHD in the disc menus, not the player menus.

I figured it out. The option is not in the disc menu at least that I could find. I had to use the audio button to cycle the different tracks.

The French list I quoted in the BR thread has it as upcoming. A Spanish disc is also upcoming. No confirmed date as of yet though.

PiP doesn't exist on Blu-ray right now short of encoding the movie a second time with the PiP burned in, although someone probably already mentioned this upthread.

As for why other studios are willing to do this and Warner's not, I have no idea.

Considering there's a 1.1 PiP titles hitting Blu-Ray at the very beginning of January...obviously, it's not far off.

I have heard there will be some further information on the current Warner HD DVD exclusive titles and Blu-ray at CES in a few weeks.

I predict many people will be unhappy with the information.

(My prediction is based on unconfirmed information, not something I just made up. I anxiously await CES to see if my prediction is accurate.)
