AVS has a Blu-Ray master list thread that shows Spiderman 1 & 2 coming out on 4/30, but I can't find a link that confirms this... was there a Sony press release like the Fox & BV ones?

Boring Paramount PR:
PARAMOUNT HOME ENTERTAINMENT TO LAUNCH 2007 BLU-RAY SLATE WITH HIGH PROFILE TITLES
Year Kicks-Off with Seven Time Golden Globe® Nominee, Babel
LOS ANGELES (January 8, 2007) – Following a well-received slate of Blu-ray releases in 2006, highlighted by M:i:III, one of the year's best-selling high-definition titles, Paramount Home Entertainment (PHE), a division of Viacom Inc. (NYSE: VIA), announced today that it will kick off 2007 with powerhouse new release and catalog titles. Leading off the high-profile films scheduled to debut from PHE is the critically-acclaimed Babel, arriving day-and-date on Blu-ray and DVD February 20. Directed by renowned filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu and starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, Babel leads the year's Golden Globe® contenders with seven nominations, including Best Motion Picture—Drama. Among the additional titles slated for release on Blu-ray in 2007 are Clint Eastwood's emotionally gripping WWII drama Flags Of Our Fathers. The epic film has garnered Eastwood a Golden Globe nomination for Best Director and features an all-star cast in its action-packed story of the Greatest Generation.
"We've been very pleased by the reception of our initial slate of Blu-ray titles from both the press and early adopters of the format," said Kelley Avery, President of Worldwide Home Entertainment, Paramount Pictures. "Looking ahead to 2007, we're enthusiastic about growing consumer adoption and excited about the titles we have lined up for the format."
Tapping into the studio's vast library, PHE also will debut a brand new director's cut of the fan-favorite action drama Payback. Starring Oscar® winner Mel Gibson, the new Payback: Straight Up Blu-ray disc features an extensive array of all-new bonus material and never-before-seen content including a behind-the-scenes look at director
Brian Helgeland's efforts to capture his definitive vision for the film. Also scheduled for release on Blu-ray is a new Special Collector's Edition of Face/Off, the sensational crime-drama starring John Travolta and Nicolas Cage. Directed by action-master
John Woo, the suspense-filled film earned over $100 million at the box office and celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2007. Additional titles will be announced throughout the year.

Some rumors about the two HD DVD players.
I believe the Onkyo will be very similar to the XA2 and $800 or that was the plan about a month ago.
The Meridian will be in the G Series, and I was told a price of near $3,000.

Oh, so Flags of our Fathers is Dreamworks (Paramount) while Warner distributes Iwo Jima (I had thought it was the other way around in the US). Does this indicate that Dreamworks is going to support both formats through Paramount? Or, are new titles not controlled by DCM?

The Fox and MGM lineups have a few titles I'm interested in. Too bad there's no rescheduled date listed for The Princess Bride. But The Graduate is good news. I was seriously contemplating importing the Studio Canal HD-DVD, but I can wait a couple more months for the Blu-ray release which hopefully won't be inferior.
The HD-DVD title announcements are a major disappointment though. Most of the ones listed we either knew about already(Babel), could see coming with new entries due out this year(Harry Potter series, Ocean's series), or were delayed from 2006(The Matrix).
Paramount in particular is pissing me off. They seem to be averaging 1-2 titles a month these days.

I am very excited for those titles, but no release dates and no indication of a timeframe doesn't excite me. And titles like Happy Feet, The Departed and Blood Diamond were basically a given, since WB has released virtually every recent theatrical title since Rumor Has It.
Blu-Ray studios, on the other hand, are giving us actual dates and/or timeframes. Plus, they're announcing not-yet-rumored titles, like The Fly, Edward Scissorhands, Cast Away, and even The Graduate (which I know will be an import in March, but still). Will they deliver on these promises? Who knows, but at least they have me excited about 2007. HD DVD's promise of 300 titles is great and all, but when will we get them? There's practically nothing this month, nothing next month....
I know I'm just impatient and I hope that WB, Universal, Paramount, and hopefully Lionsgate, Dreamworks and New Line will prove me wrong this year. And of course, I know that, whatever and whenever they release things, these studios will "get it right" (PQ, AQ, features), which is not a guarantee from the Blu-Ray camp. But strictly speaking in terms of CES announcements so far, HD DVD is leaving a lot to be desired.

Wow, some shitty announcements for HD DVD. So let me get this straight, so far they have announced that they have 2nd Gen players coming out....yeah, we fucking knew that especially considering one of them is already in stores. And we also found out that Harry Potter and the Matrix are going to be released....shit we knew when HD DVD first launched. Can they tell us something we don't know please?

iHD (renamed HDi after demands from Apple) is the interactivity language used by HD DVD. It is based on HTML.
Simplistic, I know.

Yeah, why is Paramount only talking about Blu Ray? But at least there's one new bit of information in there: they'll finally be doing that Face/Off SE, and it'll be in HD, as well. That's good news.
