Why buy DVDs when you can download the movie for free online?

Exactly.

I assume most people don't want to deal with finding the movies online, getting the right extraction tools, making sure you have the proper codecs, etc., etc. Maybe it seems easier to those used to doing it, but I remember last year when I was looking for a copy of Revenge Of The Sith online, it was a pain in the ass to finally get it done. That's the only movie I ever wanted to have before a DVD release.

I assume many porn lovers would prefer the convenience of having a real library than dealing with the web. I know that's how I'd be if I was a porn dude.

HD isnt going to be friendly to most of the porn stars. Maybe Sony is on to something.

I hear that Bluray isnt releasing any Cameron Diaz movies either.

You have never met an actor or actress Rock , because none of them look like they do on screen and most of them Don't look great in high definition in fact , films that are shot on HD require actors to use extra make up , just like porn stars would be required to.

I think Samisking23's point was that HD is unfriendly to regular Hollywood stars and not only pornstars. So if that's Sony's reason for no Blu-Ray porn, then they should forget Blu-Ray Hollywood movies as well (and not just Cameron Diaz flicks ).

In both cases makeup and creative camera work will hide most of the ugly stuff. At least I hope it would... because I really don't want to determine someone's diet habits based on their spooge

Then his point is nonsensical, as film has a much higher resolution than HD and would, according to his theory, exacerbate the problem even more.

To expand upon DVD Josh's point, film is not only higher in resolution, but also blown up to much bigger sizes on screen. I think the only porn in danger of falling prey to the actresses looking worse in HD is true gonzo porn (i.e. not financed by a studio) and most of that is shot on video, anyway, making it a moot point.

If thats his point, then it doesnt make alot of sense. Hollywood actresses spend the majority of their time clothed in films. Even when they are not, hollywood has the best makeup people, body doubles and all kind of camera tricks.

My point is simply that someone like Cameron Diaz has her blemishes exposed by HD (maybe Justin saw her last week for the first time in HD?), some of the trash that porn studios throws up on the screen will look even worse. I dont think im reaching with that comment.

Uh, makeup is ugly. Higher resolution requires LESS makeup, or at least better quality application to hide it more. The TV industry has had to learn some better techniques. You see it easiest in your local news once it's in HD. It's like they're wearing masks til the makeup person gets upgraded.

I don't think the film industry even noticed.

Agree. Anyone watch Dick Goddard in Cleveland? He is the weather guy on Fox HD. The started broadcasting in HD last year. He now looks like he died about 10 years ago and they are just using makeup to cover it up.

Speaking of adult HD, I'm not sure if any of you ever visit this site, but docdvd has a review up for the first HD DVD adult title:

My point was that hollywood uses "MAKE UP" no one looks as good as they do on Screen ever..

Ever wonder why Brad pitt always wears sunglass when he is not up for photo ups ? Or why some Actors wear hats ? Grow beards ? It is to cover up their flaws .....

And porn would be no different HD or NOT , they will have to use extra makeup and make smart choices on lighting and other stuff. And that is if they care enough to do all that work , which they probably do if they are making a choice to shoot in HD.

Our point was that hollywood is ALOT better about hiding blemishes and of course, they keep their clothes on most of the time.

HD has exposed them also, but the adult industry is just more at risk for this.

Smaller budgets, less attractive actors and less clothes = HD nightmare.

Most celebrities try to disguise themselves with sunglasses, hats, or facial hair in public to avoid being hounded by paparazzi and random people on the street, actually.

Yeah, what joke. Actually, I haven't seen him around there since CES. Presumably such losers will appear again some day under a different name.
