Frankly, I'd like to see a greater supply of HD DVD players before we get too many more titles. A bonus would be for said HD DVD players to be completely without glitches. One can only hope, right?

Lite-on has a press release on their site with tomorrow's date. No price or release date yet.

I saw something about that today on AVS, but my employer blocks international IPs, so I couldn't read about it. Ugly player, but Lite-On makes some decent equipment.

Got my Forbidden Planet tin today and I am in love. So glad Warner thought to do an HD DVD version. The lobby cards are really nice. The robot is pretty tiny, but I'm leaving it wrapped up in the tin. Hope the poster is as nice as the Kong one.

I just went to http://www.lookandsoundofperfect.com/ for the first time in a couple of weeks.

Clicked on Movies on HD DVD. Dear Lord.

Seriously, who the fuck thought this was a good idea? Is a simple list of titles (updated weekly) too much to ask?

Seems they're pouring more into that website than the retail campaign.

So, if I click the (12) Monkeys, do I win an iPod?

That is most unusual. Some of the titles you are unable to clearly see. I agree with, bretski, it is very much like an internet banner ad.

I think I just ordered an HD-A2 for $250. On one of the movie message boards I frequent, someone posted a deal from a site called Adameve.com. Apparently, if you navigate to specified site, which is a porn site (don't let it fool you), and search for keyword "Toshiba", you'll get the A2. Add it to your cart, use coupon code HALFOFF, and it'll deduct 50%. It's backordered right now, with an anticipated release date of 12/2, but if this deal truly is legit, I think it's worth the risk of the player being delayed a little longer. I PM'ed the guy to ask how he knew about it, 'cause I'm REALLY curious.

I'm sure it will end up not being honored, because that's one hell of a loss. It's well worth the risk, though.

Bought 9 HD DVD titles today, and ordered another 5 from amazon.com. Once my two separate amazon.com orders arrive, I'll be at a total of 27! 29 if you consider the Mission Impossible set to be 3 titles. I was tempted to pick up the XBOX HD DVD add-on, even without an XBOX 360... but for now, the Toshiba is good enough.

Now I just need to find time to watch these great films! Time to stock up on popcorn and pop...

Day 1 after launch of PS3 and the Blu-Ray title rankings on Amazon have actually dropped back quite a bit. Number one title Superman Returns is just making the top 1000 (951)

Hd-dvd remained fairly the same today.

I haven't had a chance to set her upyet, but the box is HUGE! My problem? No HD DVDs, which should be rectified sometime today. I already have Batman Begins and Serenity on order from DDD, and I plan on grabbing Apollo 13, Casablanca and one other film from Toshiba. Any other suggestions?

I want my pen, DFNYC

I have Sky Captain and Rattle and Hum, and while they are improvements over the DVDs, the difference is not as apparent as it is with the typical title. Sky Captain has a soft look to it by design, and Rattle and Hum is extremely grainy (if you have seen the DVD, you have some idea of what to expect from it). Either would be a fine choice if you like the movie but don't want to pay much for a disc that's not as improved as most others. I wouldn't have bought them now if it weren't for great deals that came up recently, like MJ Entertainment and the Google Checkout deal.

Someone else can comment on the other titles: Four Brothers, We Were Soldiers, and Tomb Raider.

Well, it's Christmas time. Snag The Polar Express. That's a film that demands the utmost in quality. Also, next week The Grinch live action is coming out, as well as The Mummy. Those are two titles I'm really looking forward to. The Corpse Bride is pretty much reference quality material, and I would assume Charlie And The Chocolate Factory would be quite amazing in HD.

Wow! Nice find. This is a bargain. I don't see how they'll agree to ship it at that price, but I guess if they back off the deal, they'll give everyone discount coupons for their porn site.
