Well, I give credit to Blu-Ray. It seems they are releasing a hell of alot. I guess they want to hurry up and offer everything before throwing in the towel.

As a recent HD-DVD supporter, now I'm starting to get worried. Just looking at the Blu-Ray release schedule, it seems Blu_Ray is matching every single one of HD-DVD's, but also adding a ton of titles I really want (but can't get)

I really hope HD-DVD gets some support from Fox and Disney soon...

Oh and in case anyone is interested, Meet the Parents will have ALL the extras that were on both SD DVD editions released.

Incorrect! Just off the top of my head, Enemy of the State, Monster House, and Ice Age: The Meltdown (I believe, have not seen a side-by-side, but this disc is loaded) have all of the extras ported over.

I agree, go Universal! King Kong was a great, extra filled release! Woo Hoo!

I do believe Click and Talladaga Nights have everything ported and in HD!

Oh, you've seen the spec sheets for all of those titles that state no extras, or just starting up FUD?

I dont think Ice Age has everything from the sd release....Im not sure about the others.

That said, King Kong was disappointing in regards to extras (the pic and sound was awesome), but I think it just is more evidence that its going to be released as an extended edition. Sadly.

Im also disappointed in Superman The Movie not having all the extras. I think thats the first one from WB that doesnt have all the extras on hd-dvd.

But, lets dont get into a hd-dvd vs bluray extras right now, because hands down hd-dvd has included more extras (more in the case of MI3 than the bd release). Unfortunately, they have let a couple come out recently that didnt have them all.

Kong and Superman are the exceptions at the moment just as Click and Talladega are. They are certainly not the rule.

I agree on all points, but I have a real problem when posters try to misrepresent the facts. To say "zippo, none" is clearly inaccrate and he knows it. Zero extra release are becoming fewer and fewer on BD and will be, in my opinion, completely eliminated soon.

To get us back on track, any word on the Da Vinci Code? I keep hearing the end of January, but have not seen anything official.

I know you were not refering to zero extras, but to say no titles have all of the extras ported is flat out wrong and is a statment, I believe, made to persuade potential buyers from purchasing BD.

What is not ported from Ice Age?

I'm just going from a comparison of what was on the review on DVDtalk and what was on the back of the regular DVD.

Fine. Maybe my statement about "none, zilch" was extreme but in comparison, it's accurate. Less than 5% off all current BD-only titles include all extras from their SD counterpart. And there's no sign of that changing for the better.

Like I said, they get quality up and include all extras and I'd end up contemplating BD. Until then, I see no reason to.

Looking on the hddvddigest review, it looks like it has alot, so it very well might have it all.

Does anyone think HD-DVD/BD will suffer when they release the DVD version of a movie months before the HD version (Clerks II comes to mind)

I'm really confused about the extras strategy on BD. Something like Dark Water (which didn't exactly have a huge pile of extras to begin with) shows up missing about 45 minutes of featurettes. Why exactly?

I will certainly pick this up. I loved both 1 and 2. Kinda strange that part 3 arrives on Blu-ray before part 2, which I think shows up on 2/6. I guess Saw 3 will be a BD-25 like the previous 2.

Maybe they're adopting Universal's strategy. The Chronicles of Riddick was released before Pitch Black, and even though The Bourne Supremacy was an early release, they still haven't popped out The Bourne Identity.

Saw II is coming out the same day.

The Ice Age Blu-ray is minus two of the four games from the standard DVD; the Silly Sid & John Leguizamo featurette; the Meet Crash & Eddie and Meet Ellie featurettes; and Sid's Sing-And-Dance-Along.

Basically, they've stripped the Blu-ray of the "kiddie" bonus features and kept the ones that most adults will be interested in.
