Lossless or whatever they need to do to get advanced audio on the disc. I don't think a dolby digital plus sound track is enough. TrueHD or something comparable like DTS HD Lossless should have been mandated for the spec for each format to truly be next-gen.

has there been any rumours or news if Universal will ever release the Extended Cut to HiDef Disc - I would love to own a HD-DVD edition that holds the entire 201 minute film without a disc switch, and have the extras ported to a second disc. The inclusion of TrueHD or DTS HD would be the icing on the cake

There have been ZERO rumors about a double-dip, re-release or otherwise for this title. Everything in this thread is pure speculation.

That said, i would pick it up if they actually included extras in the next release. For now, they're not getting my money.

Anyone with an A1 not having major playback glitches? Batman did this a few times, but on King Kong the freezes and glitches are really bad. I gave up on watching it an hour in. Is this a problem that needs a firmware update to fix or is this a case of some of the Kong discs being defective?

I had a lot of issues the first few times. Reloaded FW 2.0, but that didn't do much. The last time I watched it, though, things seemed to be fine, but it might have been a fluke. Still, I don't think it's a problem with the disc itself, since the freezing and skipping isn't happening at the same time, every time. Perhaps it's a combination between the disc and the player. Who knows? Either way, I am seriously contemplating buying the A2 when Best Buy gets it in.

^I have had no glitches with playback, save with the M:I box set, which had defective discs.

I'm still running firmware 1.4 but Toshiba is sending me 2.0, so I guess I'll see if that makes things worse, a major concern of mine because one can't go back to 1.4.

I don't have King Kong, so I can't say how that one works, but I have never had the slightest problem with Batman Begins.
