Tokyo Drift Review up at HDdigest Can't wait to check out the HDi features.

I just placed my order at Amazon. Can't wait to check out the HD features on this one. Wasn't a great price even with the 10% discount, but I don't care. The soundtrack should also be superb.

I can't wait for my car porn to arrive after glancing at that article. Now to decide if I need to upgrade 2 Fast 2 Furious or let it remain in only SD. I hope Fast and Furious gets an excellent transfer as well.

Maybe Robert Wilonsky will take note.

Maybe, given the fact that any normal person (as discussed here recently) would consider that to mean "better resolution than HD", the lawyers trotted by the marketing dept.

They're lowering expectations. That can't be a bad thing.

Actually, "Beyond High Definition" is a trademarked phrase that can only be used on Blu-ray discs. The BDA owns the trademark since July 13, 2006.
"Experience High Definition" is not trademarked and therefore anyone can use it anywhere they want.
It is clear that the BDA intended to use "Beyond High Definition" since they bothered to have it trademarked. Who knows why they fell back to "Experience High Definition"...

Was just reading an email from the HD DVD petition guy and it states that according to Videoscape, HD DVD is outselling Blu-Ray by a margin of 11 to 1. I'll copy and past something from the email that has really peaked my interest:
"If we stay busy for the next month or two, perhaps we may even see an
announcement by a studio or two at CES in January. Now wouldn't that be a
nice belated Christmas present!
My friends, keep the faith. I've gotten some good news on one studio already
(can't say yet) and I know there'll be more to come."
Anyone got any idea who it might be?

Lionsgate has made no announcement specifying any change in policy. Though, their rumored switch to VC-1 (and delay of titles until next year) does certainly point to that.

It's more like "support."
And trust me...the day they announce it (which will be before the end of the year), I'm sure there will be a thread that stays by the top of this forum for a while.

Interesting story: I ran into a co-worker at BB today while buying T3. We started talking about HD DVD and he asked how much players are going for. He was surprised that I had one. He then asked me if I had a 360 to which I replied "no." He then told me he was really excited to get the HD DVD add-on because it will be so cheap.
Never would have suspected him to do it. He's probably in his early to mid 30's and I guess I'm surprised at how many people already know about this stuff.
And just to make Josh happy, i saw two guys looking at plasmas who looked at BD and said it looked "sick." Congrats.

One wonders who the target market is for dumping a player on the Australian market at this price ???!!!
Granted the original SD DVD players were costly (but never this much !!) - and dropped over time - with increased competition - however - with a price (probably a RRP) of $A2749 Panasonice aren't exactly getting any $$ from me or anyone else I know for a longgggg time !!
Quote Daily Telegraph (Sydney) Connect section :
Panasonice last week unveiled its new range of home theatre products which will combine to provide true HD entertainment at the highest quality resolution available, which is 1920x1080 progressive (1080p).
Part of that range will be one of Australia's first dedicated Blu-ray disc players.. the DMP-BD10, which will be available in October and be priced at $2749
