Clerks II, while it doesn't scream for a HD release, is definitely one I can't wait for.

From Digital Bits:

Genius Products (The Weinstein Company)

Supports HD-DVD, but no announced titles at this time.
Then they have it at the bottom of the page.

Always nice to have another studio on board... 4th quarter is looking to be quite expensive.

digitalfreaknyc 08-03-06 08:26 AM

What else have they released???

*sigh* Another group of movies I could care less about. Oh well. Good to have them on board.

They dont really have alot of movies yet anyways....the only other one that I can think of would be Lucky Number Slevin.

Dvdlovr24 08-03-06 08:43 AM

Clerks 2 will be mine on 12/5.

some of their most recent releases include: Derailed, The Libertine, TransAmerica, Mrs. Henderson Presents, and Lucky Number Slevin.

they may have the rights to Tarantino's Complete Kill Bill, if that ever happens.

Josh Z 08-03-06 08:54 AM

I'm psyched for The Matador.

themanroom put up T3 but they didn't give a release date. I'm hoping that they did this just because they didn't want to be forced to take it down like Caddyshack and the others. What are the chances we'll get it in the next month? :)

bboisvert 08-04-06 11:17 AM

I don't think that we mere mortals will have access to sales data like this, but it would be interesting to take a peek after a while and see how many copies of T3 have sold vs. the BD T2 disc. I suspect the numbers would be enough to make Lion's Gate reconsider their BD-only stance.

digitalfreaknyc 08-04-06 11:21 AM

Looks like T3 will have IME!!!

RockStrongo 08-04-06 12:05 PM

I have a feeling that we are gonna start seeing some bigger titles in Sept. Its still 3rd quarter AND considered summer. The inserts say summer 2006 and the wb exec said a couple weeks ago that Batman Begins would be out in the 3rd quarter.

I bet T3 is the first of many big titles we will see soon.

RockStrongo 08-04-06 12:17 PM

digi, did cjplay ever say if Batman Begins was going to have TruHD 5.1??

Supermallet 08-04-06 03:35 PM

I don't have an exact post to point to, but I'm pretty sure Batman Begins will have TruHD5.1.

flashburn 08-04-06 03:53 PM

I thought I remember cjplay stating that if he didn't leave enough room for a TruHD 5.1 track then he would be fired. So I take that to mean there will definitely be one.

Supermallet 08-04-06 03:55 PM

Plus the video bitrate on Batman is an average of 12mb/s, so there's plenty of room for a TruHD track.

flashburn 08-04-06 03:56 PM

Yet another awesome release!
Waist Deep - 10/10/06

Due to hit stores on October 10, the double-sided disc will feature a 2.35:1 widescreen transfer in 1080p/VCI encoded video on one side, and a 480p standard-def version on the flip playable in all DVD players.

The release also features a Dolby Digital-Plus 5.1 surround track, the "Analysis of a Scene" and "Drive-By Filmmaking" featurettes, deleted scenes and a music video.

As with all Universal combo disc titles, the studio has set a suggested $39.95 list price for the release.

bboisvert 08-04-06 04:10 PM

 Maybe this is just a reflection of how bad movies have been lately... but these day & date announcements don't exactly give me a semi.

Slither will be decent enough... and I'm still hoping for a D&D announcement for Superman Returns. But, yeah, some of these others don't even qualify for rental material.

Mr. Cinema 08-05-06 07:05 AM

Was in Walmart this morning. They have moved HD DVD and BD back to the middle of the new release aisle. What's interesting though was I noticed they already had the shelf tag for Troy near the bottom row. The price was $19.96. Could Troy be showing up soon??? They also have changed all the Universal titles to $19.96. They also had the shelf tags for the Paramount titles, but haven't gotten them in yet. Of course, the lady in the electronics dept. had a gigantic stack of items to go out, but had no clue if any high-def stuff was in there.

T3 is a marginal title IMO... it's OK but can't see too many people getting an A1 so they can watch it. I'll probably still buy it anyways lol... while I'm waiting for T1 & T2.

Do you like ANY movies? It seems like every single title either out or announced you say the same thing to.
