Where'd I tell you that I worked?

That should answer your question.

Gotcha. Forgot that part. Why the hell would they wait?

And why the hell didn't you mention that before?

Why spend money on a promotional group, release 10 discs, and then wait 3-4 months to release more?

I can't say why they are waiting because I don't know. All I can tell you is that I don't see many other titles listed except near the release of PS3 which they have dual releases of both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray . If something changes, I will let you know.

My gues is maybe they want to see how these titles do before they go ahead and release more. Or maybe they want to wait because they want to see how PS3 does. If it sells a lot I would imagine that they will ramp up their releases for Blu-Ray.

I think a big factor in this format war is seeing how the PS3 does for all the major studios. I think that's also the reason that a few of the studios chose to go only Blu-Ray.

Blu-Ray releases will be sped up when PS3 comes out. Since it's only a few months away they studios probably feel it's probably better to just wait.

I was really hoping for the re-release of Black Rain.

So you can see that there are more titles actually named, just not until PS3 hits? Is The Truman Show one of them?

You might want to actually read this thread.

It's already been asked.

If it's a movie from 1979 with a massive amount of optical effects, I'll understand a little dirt. But a recent film from 2004 which used mostly practical effects? Sleepy Hollow had less actual dirt than Manchurian Candidate, and it's older. Makes me worry about how Paramount archives their films.

I don't think it's about archiving so much -- this transfer probably dates back to when the DVD was produced, so everything should still have been new and shiny. I've never worked on a DVD in that capacity, but I wouldn't be surprised if most movies start out lightly speckled...it's just that those producers clean up the dust, but Paramount doesn't...or at least doesn't as thoroughly.

It's a shame. By the way, Adam, did it look to you as if the scene where Marco talks to the boy scouts looked a little washed out? Not horribly washed out, just a bit.

Sorry, I see it on page 4. I actually don't always read every page of every thread. I'm at work most of the day, until this Friday anyway.

not a problem! There's some good info in it. It's one of the ones you might want to quickly go through.

With all due respect to jiggawhat, I just wanted to point out that amir has just posted that he hasn't heard anything about Paramount slowing down. Who's right? We'll have to wait and see, I suppose.

I guess we'll have to wait and see since I won't bother to post about anything Paramount related anymore.

Hey, jigga, I didn't mean to offend you. I was just posting about amir's comment since he is another industry insider. It was not at all meant to discredit you. So, if I have offended you, I am sincerely sorry.

It's like with the Soup Nazi; don't question him, or...

"I didn't get any bread."
"Just forget it; let it go."
"Excuse me, I think you forgot to give me bread."
"Bread 2 dollars extra."
"But he got his for free."
"You want bread?"
"Yes, please."
"3 dollars!"
"What?"
"No soup for you!"

an HD first? hmm... multi-disc set? (Apocalypse Now Dossier?) animated film? (Over the Hedge could be day-date)

Hmm...an HD DVD first. I'm gonna say it's for animated feature, and all signs would point to Over the Hedge. The dvd comes out 10/17. Maybe it also means they are distributing the first Dreamworks title. That could also be Over the Hedge.

I'm hoping for M:I3 day-and-date, personally.

Granted Jigga could be right also though. He said he doesnt see anymore until PS3 launch (Nov) and Amir says through the end of year. They both could be right.

I hope we see MI3 and Over the Hedge day/date definately. Dreamworks titles would cut into my wallet too!

If they mean first animated feature on HD-DVD overall, "Corpse Bride" on BD has it beat by an entire week. I'd buy pretty much any animated Dreamworks/PIXAR movie on HD-DVD, personally.
