And it looks like I got stiffed by Amazon on my copy of The Italian Job. It was supposed to have shipped already, but the status never changed on it. Thinking it should have at least entered the "We are preparing this item for shipment..." already, I called Amazon on it. I got one hell of an "apology" in response.

... Paramount has officially confirmed that Mission: Impossible 3 will street on 10/30 in DVD, HD-DVD AND Blu-ray Disc formats. This will mark the first time a major new theatrical film release has launched simultaneously on all three formats on the same day.
Just as we told you yesterday, there will be an anamorphic widescreen 2-disc collector's edition (SRP $24.99). The HD-DVD and Blu-ray Disc versions will both sell for SRP $29.99. All three will include 5 deleted scenes, 4 featurettes (The Making of the Mission, Mission Action: Inside the Action Unit, Visualizing the Mission and Scoring the Mission), Easter eggs and trailers.
The 2-disc DVD will also include audio commentary with Abrams and Cruise, a Moviefone Unscripted segment, "tribute montages" and a photo gallery. The high-def releases will add an "enhanced" picture-in-picture version of the commentary along with 1080p video and Dolby Digital Plus audio.
There will be a single-disc DVD version as well (SRP $19.99), available in both full frame and anamorphic widescreen, that will include only the commentary, The Making of the Mission featurette and the deleted scenes.

Let's say they had given out the specs for the HD-DVD and then mentioned that the title would also be released on BD. It may have been somehwat misleading, but it wouldn't have been false.
EDIT: they've corrected it now.

Digital Bits is a disgrace right now. I guess it will all be worth it if Blu-ray gets its shit together down the road and beats HD DVD, but you have to laugh at how hard many people are working to slander HD DVD and pump up Blu-ray all with false information. I thought this crap only went on in our government.

So any hints regarding the remaining 9 or so titles from Paramount this year? I keep hearing persistent rumors that Reds will be on HD (Coming Soon on www.toshibahddvd.com and via an unofficial Paramount rep on the HTF). Obviously there's MI3.
And now that MI3 appears to be a two disc HD set, could that leave the doors open for the upcoming Apocalypse Now SE to be released (as all that content won't fit on one HD DVD)? Over The Hedge? Any Dreamworks titles? The Truman Show? Scrooged, even? Braveheart? Any hints, those in the know?

Wow, that's sort of harsh. How strongly worded was your letter to him?
As for Team America and Lemony Snicket, I think it was in this thread or another where it was stated that, despite the ad, those two wouldn't be released this year.

I wasn't in the best of moods when I emailed him. I just took a little jab at him, but nothing to cry about. Clearly he's gotten tons of emails with accusations of being in the BD camp. Coincidence? I don't think so.

That's hilarious. Hunt is nothing but a joke now as far as I'm concerned.

Since I'm under the influence 2day. I will say Team America is most likely coming out next year and Reds is coming this year as well as Black Rain. Since Dreamworks is part of us now look for something from them this year.
I said be4ore that Blu-Ray versions of earlier HD-DVD titles are coming out this year.
