I placed quite a few of these orders with google checkout tonight and had one declined. Anyone else have that problem? It was at bestprices.com. Every order I have done since then has worked fine but I had to cancel the declined one because it just won't go through. They wanted me to add another card, which I'm not doing.

I can tell you now that it has been a bitch just trying to get a RMA for it. It seems the whole Google checkout delays the process, because the order is not listed within my Buy.com User ID history.

Amazon.com lowered the price of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory back to $19.99.

I figure someone at that target must have marked it thinking it was the regular DVD, worth checking it out though but i won't hold my breath.

I noticed that the Digital Video Essentials HD DVD pre-order is $18.99 at BestPrices.com. If you pair it with another HD DVD you can use the Checkout $10 off a $30 order, in effect $5 off each. I find that shipping for two HD DVDs seems to be $5.96 using Google checkout (although it is only $4.24 using the regular checkout). So, buying two copies of DVE would cost $33.94, or $16.97 each. That's the best price I have seen thus far.

For reference, the prices elsewhere are:

DVD Empire $24.47 plus shipping (free shipping on three titles).
CD Universe $21.89 plus $3.99 shipping for two titles.
Buy.com $23.94, free shipping on orders over $25; pre-orders might not qualify for Google checkout.
Amazon $23.95, free shipping on orders over $25; 10% off deal would reduce the price to $21.56.
DDD $23.95, free shipping. During the 20% off sale that might be $19.16, if the price remains the same after release day (11/14/06).

Be careful. Pare it with the wrong title and shipping jumps to $10. DVE with 12 Monkeys gives $6 shipping, but with King Kong or The Grinch shipping is $10.

DVDplanet shipped my 12 monkeys, The Thing and Out of Sight yesterday.

I may have done the slow shipping that was free, but I dont remember. They seem to be more reliable than amazon on shipping.

DDD has Superman the Movie posted, as well as Superman II, both at $20.13. No "Returns" yet, though.

It is unfortunate that the 20% off sale will likely have ended by the 11/28 release date.

They will probably raise the prices anyways...ive lost faith in DDD over the past couple years.

They shipped 12 Monkeys and The Thing for me too. But my Spartacus didn't ship. Has this been delayed?

All three shipped for me as well yesterday with the free shipping. I may actually receive a hd-dvd title by release day for once. That would be a first.

I believe I have seen reports in this forum that Costco sells HD DVD players. Does anyone know if they sell HD DVDs and, if so, at what sort of prices?

I have not yet seen any HD-DVDs at the three Costcos near me. Their online site lists 6 HD-DVDs for sale from $20 to $24 in price, which are not really bargains after adding shipping and tax.
