As mentioned in the Video Game forum, there's a rumor that there'll be a Black 360 on the market soon (via the Best Buy ad below)
If it turns out true then I suspect we'll also be seeing a Black HD-DVD add-on as well. The black will mesh it better with most home theatre equipment.

(Amir) Response: Good question. Simply put, we have done nothing to make it difficult to use the drive on a PC.

The add on will use an external power source. You can clearly see it on the Prototype model and will not depend on X-Box 360 power source. But not sure what the final product will look like.I was lucky to get the picture because most of the time they just put the add on player in that glass cover. You can only take the front side pictures.

Here we go! It's official!
At its X06 event in Barcelona, Microsoft announced that the Xbox 360 HD DVD player will cost $199 in North America and $199.99/129.99 in the U.K., France and Germany.
The Xbox 360 HD DVD player will come with a copy of Peter Jackson's King Kong on HD DVD (for a limited time at least) and the Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote.

...because I was still on the fence about owning Wii, 360 or PS3.
With this announcement..... I'm now more inclined to buy a 360 over the other two.
