From your description, it sounds more like the announcement tipped the scales for you.

Tipping Scales, Impulse Buy.... it's all the same to me.
I just made an impulse decision then.... to purchase this player in the near future.
How dat be.

Yes... but when you combine three... you have an "exclusive type" bundle that will entice "impulse buyers"....like myself and others

Although, I have the Logitech 360 remote, so I can sell this one on EBAY or something to recoup some of the cost.
Nice

Edit: Was the optical cable for audio still the only choice? I'm curious how they will execute this is someone wants the different audio options of HD-DVD.

You know what guys??? I think all the "spin" going on in the last page or so has made me want to go out and buy a PS3!

Please. No matter how you cut it, this is very good news and a great deal.

If they put hd-dvd displays with Batman Begins, Terminator 3, Troy, Superman Returns (depending on release date) and some other huge titles, this package that includes King Kong will really entice people to buy into hd-dvd via the 360.
Those movies really appeal to the gamers who will buy a 360 or have one.
Will it be the straw for hd-dvd? Of course not. I dont think any gaming system will be whether it be the 360 or PS3. But, it definately could steal some thunder from the PS3.

Amir said Kong looks better than the Demo clip so I'm thrilled for the add-on.

I only saw it once in the theater and thought it was slow, but it seems like a great title for home viewing.

The big question for me is how many units Microsoft will be able to deliver during the Christmas buying season. They have kept a pretty low profile on this unit for quite a while, but now, announcing the Kong bundle, it is going to become much more "visible" to many consumers. If they have been busy quietly assembling the units for the past few months, they could be poised to bring a sizeable number of them to the US market.

That's the one thing about Amir, if you don't get a response, you can be sure it's "classified."

It will be interesting to see just how many units Microsoft ships, and when they announce the numbers. My guess is that they don't want to give "the enemy" too many details just yet. We'll probably here more information toward the end of October.
