Yes. It's available at my local Best Buys at the low, low price of $34.99.

Has anybody heard anything as to whether Universal would release the classic monster movies, like Dracula, Frankenstein and the Mummy, in HD? I want to purchase the new Legacy releases for Dracula and Frankenstein (75th Anniversary), but would hate to find out shortly after that HD releases are forthcoming. Also, what do you think HD could do for movies like these?

The Universal Classic monster movies were listed as coming soon on the official HD DVD marketing site, so I would expect them in 2007.

But could HD really improve on movies like these that are 75 years old? ...and should they be even more cleaned up if they were to be remastered in HD? There's a certain nostalgia in watching these movies like I remember them during the "creature features" on late night Fridays and Saturday afternoons.

Go take a look at The Adventures of Robin Hood, which by all accounts looks amazing. Film has more resolution than HD, so almost every movie ever made should look significantly better in HD, with room to look even better than HD can show us!

I'd upgrade Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein and Creature from the Black Lagoon as these are my favorites. The rest I'd be satisfied to keep on my existing DVD versions.

Have there been any rumors about Double Indemnity making its way to HD-DVD? I would like to pick it up, but I just got burned by doing that with Grand Prix.

Any rumors out there?

Dracula and Frankenstein are coming. Why Universal doesn't push them for Halloween I don't know.

Some of the older releases so far have been looking better than the more recent stuff, and thankfully so! I'm hoping for some more classic titles soon. It's like watching your favorite movies again for the first time.

I just bought the new Frankenstein and Dracula legacy dvds....if they come out in 2007 on hd, I might trade them in for the hd-dvds. I dont mind these on sd for now. After reading the reviews, I couldnt resist.

I would wait. I think we'll see Double Indemnity on HD DVD far sooner than we saw it on DVD.

I think of the Lionsgate releases, American Psycho is the only one that I would purchase on hd-dvd. Even then, if they dont include the extras from the killer edition on dvd, then ill pass.

Oh wait, I forgot they did Crash too....Id grab that one.

I think I have about 6 titles from LG and I can't remember which ones they are other than Crash, T2, American Psycho and Young Guns. I would buy all of them in a heartbeat.

Yes sir. I checked it when I went to Best Buy the other day.

That also means it will be getting a VC-1 encode.
