I think thats just for the show so they can be stood up. Would be funny though if they came like that

I bet after a while and lots of complaints they will go back to regular DVD cases since people will want to add them to their existing dvd collection and not want them to stand out too much.

I meant DVD-A jewel cases, maybe people aren't familiar with them. Not all DVD-As come in them, but many do. They are thinner than DVD cases, but about the same height. They also have nice rounded corners, unlike CD cases. And they have a better latch system than CD cases, although I suspect it is easy to break.
