Are you using the button to insert the link? If so, don't. That doesn't seem to do the embedding.
Just paste it into the editor straight.

^That seemed to do the trick, but it feels like, to post here, we need duct tape and paper clips. The site is as decrepit as its members, which is appropriate, I guess.
