Re: Jan. 3rd 2019 Upgrade Master Thread
Every once in awhile now, if I'm in a thread and use the back button on my browser (Firefox), I get the following instead of the previous page:
Prefetching is not allowed due to the various privacy issues that arise. It's extremely intermittent - only happened a handful of times and it doesn't seem very repeatable. |

I'm having problem on posting pic on the forum. I know the [img] [/img] does work in the past but when I preview the post the [/img] doesn't show. Please fix this.

The least complicated workaround is to stop using the tag manually and use the vBulletin composer toolbar instead. |
Re: Jan. 3rd 2019 Upgrade Master Thread
When I use Quick Reply (or the regular Reply for that matter), oftentimes I'll choose to edit a previous post, copy the text, and past it in my new reply, changing parts of the text to submit my new post.
Example: Watched 2 episodes of The Flash (S1) while we ate dinner: The Trap and Grodd Lives. Notice how The Flash is bolded and in blue, The Trap and Grodd Lives are italicized. When I copy the name of a different episode into the field for the existing episode, the italics go away and I have to re-italicize the episode title. I always make sure to stay within the field, yet the italics go away. Every time. Not that this is a huge deal, it just makes more work. Before, when the bold and italics tags were used, you could paste text between those tags and everything was peachy. But now, you can't do that anymore. Is there an editor I can use which still uses the bold and talics tags? Because the new way isn't working very well for my purposes. Thanks |

Thanks I just copied and pasted that from quoting your post, then I added my own text. The font formatting stayed. I'm not sure if that's what you mean, or if it is, why it's working for me, but not you. |

Do you have the "Source" button on the upper right of your text editor box? Also, they got Gorilla Grodd on that show?

Switch to the "Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls" editor. It's very similar to the old editor and allow the tags.

I don't know if I understand your question. The sticky nav bars are part of Infinite Scroll, but if you don't have IS turned on, you still have Forum Jump at the bottom of each thread page and "breadcrumbs" at the top each one.

Re: Jan. 3rd 2019 Upgrade Master Thread
Not sure if this has been reported yet. Any thread I have recently (not sure when it started) posted in does not show up in the "New Posts" search results.
For example, I posted in https://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk...wolf-moon.html And that thread's last post was 6:28am 1/21/19 My search results for New Posts do not show it: https://i.postimg.cc/y88Tvyks/missin...in-dvdtalk.jpg If I go directly to the forum I posted in, then they show in the correct order. |

Re: Jan. 3rd 2019 Upgrade Master Thread
Me three. Think it just doesn’t show up as long as your post is the last, so not too problematic.

Re: Jan. 3rd 2019 Upgrade Master Thread
If you are the last poster, it will not show up in New Posts. That's new as of the updates. Before, it would still show in New Posts but not be in bold like the others. Now it appears the forum considers that thread read and doesn't list it at all in New Posts.
As soon as I hit New Posts after posting this reply; this thread will not be on the list anymore. Edit: Adding picture. Hit New Posts right after submitting this post. https://i.imgur.com/xj4FkYd.jpg |
Re: Jan. 3rd 2019 Upgrade Master Thread
The example I posted above (Blood Moon thread) I was not the last poster.
So what I'm seeing now, this feedback thread and a couple of others I posted in that had new replies showed up in my New Post search I just ran. However, after going in and "reading" them, and running New Posts again, they disappear from the results I didn't post in the Super Bowl thread, but went into it. Then ran New Posts then it disappeared from results too. But the Futureman (Hulu) thread that is below the 'updated since last visit' line I can leave and search again and it's still there. Seems to be if you have "read" a thread they disappear from New Posts search. Multi-page threads do not seem to disappear after going in though as far as I can tell. But they change to not highlighted/bold in the search results. |
Re: Jan. 3rd 2019 Upgrade Master Thread
^That's the way "New Posts" is supposed to work. Think of it as "Unread Posts."

Yeah; that's why I didn't bother to post it earlier. In theory, New Posts should only show threads you haven't looked at since something was posted. I think we're all just used to the old way where New Posts really meant New Posts since your last visit, whether you've looked at them or not.
Before, if I visited a thread, and do New Posts again, it would still show in search results but would not be highlighted/bold in the list. So, perhaps it was "broken" in the past? I just realized that "Today's Posts" seems to be behaving correctly, so I might just have to start using that more, even though it's an extra click. |
Re: Jan. 3rd 2019 Upgrade Master Thread
We have a “today’s posts”? Yeah, sounds like I might want to experiment with that.
For the past 5 or so years I pretty much only use the “new posts” button to interact with the forum. Not really loving the new ways it’s working either. |

Re: Jan. 3rd 2019 Upgrade Master Thread
Just typed @tre then a list popped up with multiple names and I selected yours.after that, the name looks different in the Quick Reply box. Can't take a screencap right now to show it though. This is in the full site, not mobile. Not sure if there's a difference.

Cool. I don’t like that editor and use another for better formatting tools, but good to know.
Also, from the User CP settings< it looks like we’re possibly getting post likes. |
