Yep just hit with this same takeover pop-up. Seriously... does anyone here think IB cares about it at this point? They haven't responded directly in this thread in well over a month. Any respectable website would have dealt with this immediately. We are left with a) IB doesn't care or b) IB is making money off the ads and have no reason to stop them.

Gotten one every day for the last few days or so. Sometimes twice. It's really great.

Just got hit by a hijack on desktop Chrome, while visiting Forum Feedback.

Got one last night that hijacked the browser then it tried to open the App Store on my phone to download some shitty app or game.

What in the actual fuck.

This is a widespread problem for IB... At least two other forums they own are having the same takeover issue. And the same response, or lack of, from IB. So I guess we are all going to have to live with it because IB *DOES NOT* care.

Maybe it's time to start calling IB Corporate on Monday: 310-280-4000

I found some email addresses on their corporate site. Go ahead and email them, too. Looks like they're the people to contact for advertising inquiries, ironically enough.

Just redirected 3x in a row to some "playking" website that wants to open an external app. Great work here, IB. Really trying to drive away users, huh?

I've gotten hit on my mobile (iPhone) a lot. Probably half the times I'm in any given thread.

I'm on here A LOT. Never got a single redirect from my PC.

Windows 7
Google Chrome
Spybot, Malwarebytes, and Windows Security is always running to some extent.
Adblock is installed. But I turn it on and off from time to time.

After a week or so of nothing (thanks?) I got this one FOUR TIMES IN A ROW trying to get to threads in Political Talk.

Sigh.

This is getting fucking ridiculous. The site is almost unusable on mobile. I'm getting redirected almost a dozen times a day now.

Got several in TV forum and in Other. The site continues to be a joke.

Hey guys, Roger is out for a bit, but basically we're tackling this a new way, going forward.

What we need is the following:
1. Screenshot (which you've all been posting, awesome)
2. The URL of where you're being redirected
3. Device/Operating System
4. Country you're in when you get the ad
5. Your IP address

Feel free to post the screenshots here still, but if you don't want to have that other stuff public, PM both IBrshao and myself.

If I haven't said it before, you people are gluttons for punishment. On my desktops, I use the "Microsoft MVPs" HOSTS file to block ad and spyware sites (plus some other measures like the Yet Another Remove-It Permanently add-on for Firefox), and never have issues and never have Amazon UK links redirected. On my smart phone the options are more limited, but I spoof as Firefox and disable image and JavaScript, which amounts to largely the same thing. QED.

All of my posts have been from the US using iPhone 6S and iOS 10. As for IP address, you can look it up to get the one associated with a post; I always posted screenshots directly from my phone.

In the meantime I've just stopped using the site from my mobile phone, and maybe hit a page or two from work every few days now.

I'm having the same problem. There's a shitload of malware ads that load on DVD Talk's pages. This is something new I've observed.

I'm also getting the Microsoft malware ad, which is unique to DVD Talk's pages.

The problem with this is I've stopped using dvdtalk.com on my mobile device because of the repeated hijacks.

Also... would you care to explain why it took an admin on a different IB forum to get a response from IB in this thread?

Point blank... the hijacks are completely unacceptable and the fact you are leaving it to the users to report the hijacks is very poor business practice! Fire your ad network!

I tried viewing the site on my iPad this morning and I was subjected to a barrage of spam/malware ads.

Amazing how this is going on for months and nothing is apparently being done to resolve it. I would think it's killing some of the traffic here.

I've seen a steep decline in posts and read counts since this crap goes on endlessly. I imagine it is the beginning of the end unfortunately.
